Starbucks at WDW and using Cdn Gift Card?

I don't drink coffee so I haven't paid much attention to the discussions in the past regarding using a Canadian Gift Card at WDW.

Does anyone have recent experience doing this? I was thinking of getting a card at the local store and then loading it up with some Airmiles Cash rewards.

Is this doable? Is it easy for a technically challenged person such as myself to do? I would like to surprise DH with some free coffee on our trip if I can.

Ive used a canadian starbucks gift card in the US but not in Disney. It worked! It just charges the exchange on it. Im hoping itll work in Disney as well as ive been saving mine up!

I load my gift cards on the app and use them with no problems at Disney. Great idea on getting them at Shell for extra AM

I just got a $25.00 Starbucks Gift Card from my daughter inlaw at Christmas time. I collect Airmiles cash rewards and then just buy the online
Starbucks coupons and then add the amount to my card online.
Very easy to do and it is nice to have a little extra "Disney" savings .
I love the protein bistro boxes and banana strawberry smoothies also a cinnamon bun and coffee in the morning is nice.

Thanks all, I'm not seeing a lot of other uses for my cash miles so I think I'll go ahead and put some $ on a card for a special treat.

I used ours at the airport (MCO) on the way home. $2.45 usd for medium coffee, charged $3.28 cdn, 1.33 exchange which was the going exchange rate a couple of weeks ago.

We've used ours at Disney and Universal. It also comes in handy if you fly out of YYZ (or your airport has a starbucks). I was able to use one I got as a gift to buy breakfast for the family before an early flight!

Thanks Mel for the link to the menu! I am thinking of using my STB cash miles for Starbucks egiftcard since any leftover balance can be used back in Canada. Can I use the Starbucks app or card to pay for any of the items on the menu? Please confirm! TIA!

DD and DH both have a Starbucks account. I would just get the egiftcard and load it to DD's account.

Good to know that Universal takes it too! We will be there for a week before the Disney portion of my vacation. DD would be really happy!

Thank you for the info! How do I buy the online cash starbucks coupons using airmiles? Could you give me the order step by step? I think this is an excellent idea to use up my airmiles cash. Thank you

Log onto Airmiles make sure your Cash Account is unlocked
Get Rewarded
Cash Rewards
Online Rewards
Scroll to Starbucks
Select get eVoucher
fill in the blanks and you're good to go.
The voucher will come via email. You then click on a button to redeem it. You can load it directly onto your registered Starbucks card or take the paper eVoucher to the store and they will load it onto a card for you.
If you go to the store and pick up a GC you will have to register it in order to be able to track your usage.

You can load both, they just show up in the app as different cards and you cannot transfer $ between them.

The app and gift cards totally work. The only thing you can't do is use your rewards at any of the in the park Disney Starbucks.

At both of Disneyland's Downtown Disney Starbucks, you can redeem star rewards. I save mine for trips down there. A free $8USD sandwich for lunch seems like better value than redeeming in Canada

The stores in the parks you can use app and earn stars and also use your AP discount. Those purchases also count towards challenges or bonuses offered through Starbucks rewards.

I assume WDW's stores are the same? (Again assuming there is a Starbucks at Disney Springs)

There are two in Disney Springs: one in Marketplace and one in West Side. I read about it.
