First MB, noe Fountainview at epcot?? Disney hopped on board to sell out. Not even like they are just adding, they are closing down landmark places to change them into starbucks! Ugh! We loved sitting at Fountainview, enjoying ice cream as a family, watching th fountains...at least this wont happen til AFTER our trip...

Fountain View is always packed, but so is the bakery. Not sure what Disney is thinking. I just hope they continue to serve all the yummy ice cream.

Yeah .... this does nothing for me, but there are a lot of people who love Starbucks so I'm sure plenty of people will be thrilled. I'd be more excited if they could just figure out how to offer decent coffee on their own.

sell out? there are already sponsorships all over the place since the park opening. this is nothing new.

How is this not new?

How do you compare an attraction/restaurant 'sponsorship' to a complete take over of the brand itself?

Someone please enlighten me here...:confused3

Lots of people got upset when Fountainview originally changed too.

Many people (including me) don't believe it will be a 'complete takeover.' They are not going to take your average Starbucks and stick it into these two locations. Yes, these places will be closed for a few months and are undergoing a major refurb and they will be changed, but probably not as drastically as some think.

Here's what they did in DCA - Starbucks was incorporated into a new bakery/cafe they added to the new Buena Vista Street:

I think it will be along the same lines as that. Still themed to the location, Disney treats (and hopefully ice cream) still available, and only limited Starbucks signage.

That's OK w/me. I haven't like the Fountainview since they switched over to ice cream. I used to love to sit there with a cup of coffee and watch the fountain. Now i can do that again

We loved stopping there in the morning for a coffee and a pastry before it was ever an ice cream shop.

I'm happy about this news and I bet many more are too.

Same here. I'm glad there will be somewhere for me to grab a quick bite in the morning again.

I am looking forward to it and I can't wait to see the finished product on my next visit!

I imagine if they could have done that they would have. But if you've ever been to a place that simply *serves* a certain type of coffee and fails at it, you know that having trained coffee-makers is much better.

I'm glad it's coming to Epcot but wish they'd replace Club Cool instead. That's just a big Coke store. I don't get it. :confused3

Anyone know the time line for this? When are these places closing? We will be there Jan21-26...will they already be closed?

Now you're just talking crazy!!!!You want to remove a store that allows you to come in at any time and drink soda samples from different countries,no more smart soda,no more making people try Beverly as a joke and snapping pics of them as they swallow, can you say lunacy, people love that place.

Soda samples from different countries? Can you explain further. I guess I never had this experience at Epcot and am not familiar.

I have, however, traveled all over the world and a Coke is a Coke to me. I was just recently at a Mexican Cantina and one of my friends was drinking a Coke from Mexico and says they used different sugar (real sugar vs corn syrup) and had a different taste. I tried to order one but my friends was the last one they had in stock that day.

yes, complete takeover of the brand... i heard they are now going to replace the new POTC mermaids with the Starbucks mermaid. Under The Sea is now going to be sponsored by Starbucks and they are going to sing "Under the Coffee... " Mickey Mouse is now be referred to as Coffee Mouse.

Dole, Kodak, Sharpie, GM, Siemens, blah blah blah.... all in the world and none have "taken over the brand itself"

Club Cool is a gift shop but it also has soda tasting stations from around the world. It's been there for years with the name Club Cool since 2005 and Ice Station cool before that. The sodas you can taste there are Beverly from Italy,Kinley from Israel,Smart Watermelon from China,Vegibeta from Japan,Krest from Mozambique,a Cherry or Strawberry Fanta one from Costa Rica,an apple flavored one from Mexico and Mezzo Mix from Germany which is coke and orange mixed.
