This may be a little early to be asking this but here goes. Does any one out there know of the Star Wars Weekends plans yet for '05? The new Star Wars movie opens May 19. We are Star Wars Weekend veterans, but how will the opening affect the "weekends". We would be there May 20 -May 26th or so. Also, does any one have an opinion as to whether it will really matter if we haven't seen the new movie yet when we go? (I'll stand in lines at WDW but not for opening night of a movie! Especially not the night before we leave for Disney!) Any advice is appreciated.

I'm wondering this too. The Disney website does say they will have Star Wars weekends in 2005. Some members here have said when the last 2 movies were released they didn't have the SW weekends.

I really hope they do because my DS is addicted to Star Wars, (he's playing it right now as a matter of fact with Daddy) We wanted to take him last year, but I just got out of the hospital with his new sister. So I'm really crossing my fingers that we can take him this year for a quick weekend trip.

I cannot speak for this year, but for the past two movie releases they have only had one weekend that coincides with the release date. They also did not have alot of the activities (WWTBAM, autograph signings, Jedi training) that they have on the off-movie years. A friend of a friend who works at Lucasfilms tells me that Lucasfilms is to busy on a movie release year to supervise the SW Weekends. Hard to say for sure, but I am not counting on there being more than one weekend of SW Weekends.

I'm a huge STAR WARS fan and unfortunate for me I have never had the chance to experience Star Wars weekends.

In 2003 I missed it by about two weeks.

Does that mean there has been a Star Wars weekend on the weekend of the movie release? That is what we are hoping for! In the past, has there been one Star Wars weekend on the weekend following the movie's release? If there is, we will be there. My daughter and I want to see the opening of the new Star Wars movie at AMC Pleasure Island and do a Star Wars weekend at MGM. We were worried that there wouldn't be a Star Wars weekend due to the release of the movie. If there is one Weekend, our dreams will have had come true.
