I have two very obsessed star wars fans. both are dying to do jedi training and we are working on strategies to hopefully get them signed up for it. both really want to get light sabers and jedi robes. now that star wars weekends are over is there still a place to buy these? if so, where and do you know a guesstimate of cost? also do they still have the mickey ears that are star wars inspired? if so, which ones and where do we find them? thanks!!

There is a Star Wars ride called Star Tours right by the JTA stage. After you ride it, it dumps you into a Star Wars themed shop called Tataooine Traders (you can also get to the shop without going on the ride, of course). In Tatooine Traders they have build your own light sabers for around $20-25, depending on the options you choose. They're more substantial than the light sabers you can get in a regular store. They also have all the Star Wars merchandise in there as well...the ear hats, t-shirts, a Build a Droid station, etc. I don't recall seeing Jedi robes, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. I try to funnel the kids through there as quickly as possible! :rotfl:

ETA: The only Star Wars ears I've noticed in person are the R2D2 ones, but again, there might be more variety available. If there is Star Wars merchandise you're looking for, it will definitely be in Tatooine Traders if it's available at all.

IDK about robes but I just bought my little jedi a star wars flashlight from walmart.com so that he won't be accidentally hitting people with his lightsaber (he has a few play ones at home) at the park. I'm attempting to sew him a robe. It's looking like poo but he doesn't care.

Do you know all about signing up for Jedi Training?
Ages 4-12, get to DHS about 45 min before rope drop, proceed directly to the sign up area (CMs can direct you , they will have signs) it is usually at the Sounds Dangerous building. The kids must be with you to sign up.
When my 3 did it they had robes for the kids to wear during the training, and each had a training lightsaber- they don't keep any of it. We also made the lightsabers, one of my DH's favorite pictures from that trip is DD who was 4 on her tip toes trying to get Darth Vader! I t is a great experience!

All my guys are huge star wars fans. This shop was older DS and now little guys favorite place to shop...anywhere! There are tons of stuff there, some hard to find in typical stores and some that you can find at wal-mart MUCH cheaper. Try to be aware of the difference and lead your child toward good choices. My little guy LOVES light-sabers and has a ton of them. He built his first one at WDW about 4-5. He enjoyed building it but needed some help. It was cool, but the saber it's self is heavier than most of them and he has never enjoyed playing with it. Still VERY cool experience but just an FYI. Also the toy store at DTD has some great star wars Mr potato Head pieces that we have collected all of. I am trying to think we did see a cape in the store but am not at all sure so don't promise.
