Is this ok for a 5 year old who is ok with noise but has never been to DLP before?

Is the Studio Tram Tour scary at the dragon bit for 5 yr old ds ?

ArecPinnochio and Snow White quite "dark rides" really in the sense of the theming ?

Only you know your child. We didn't take our 6 & 3 yr olds on Star Tours but that meant we didn't go on it either so I can't really comment.
Personally I think snow White and Pinnochio are quite scary, unnecessarily so in Fantasyland for small children. My DS was petrified of SW when he was 3 so we didn't take them on it this time. My DD who's 3 also hated peter Pan because it's dark, but DS (6) loved it. DD hated POTC too for the same reason, but a 5 yr old will be OK I'm sure.
DS adored the Studio Tram Tour, again DD hated it. The key is to prepare them for the water and the fire (it does get quite hot!) so they know it isn't real. BTW the water is on the left and the dragon on the right if that makes a difference where your 5 yr old sits on the tram.

My DS was 3 when we last went and hated Snow white and Pinnochio - they are scarier than Phantom Manor, IMHO Mind you, he also didn't like the dark in PP and POTC, and thought he was going to fall out when the boats in PP went round corners - he's less wussy now and looking forward to everything! But I believe ST is not suitable if you get travel sick

Star Tours is a really good ride- DD was 5 the first time she went on this but she is a bit of a speed freak! On Star Tours you can get thrown around your seat a fair bit but you do have a lap bely to keep you restrained. How about one of the adults going on first and trying it out? You could then judge if you think its ok.
Your children will probably surprise you - the rides you think they'd love they'll think are ok but the rides you think they'll be scared of they will love!
Have to agree about Pinnochio and Snow White - the theaming is very dark.

Star Wars will try to go on my own as DH doesn't do, and can judge from there.

Are there any other Fantasyland rides that you thought were a little too mean in theming ......

My DS 5 loved Star Tours- he wanted to go again. He liked Pinoccchio and didn't mind Snow White. The one thing that really upset him though was when he saw the dragon in the castle dungeon.

The first time we went my DS turned 5 and I only went on Big Thunder Mountain and Star Tours, after he went on them, came off and convinced me I'd be OK too.
The 2nd time we went 6 months later, he got scared in Snow White, (it had been closed the previous visit), although he denied it later, he was absolutley petrified on Armageddon and even now 4 years later won't contemplate going back on

my ds is 3 and my dd is 5 - neither of them liked snow white and ds was absolutely hysterical on star tours - he hated it and i had to hold him and tell him to close his eyes until it was over

My DD (who was 4½ at the time) absolutely loved Star Wars, saying that though both my children are Star Wars mad. However, she didn't like Peter Pan or Armageddon much, but loved POTC ride .. so each to their own I guess. I have to say her worse fear of all though is the crocodile outside the Rainforest Cafe, and I know that fear still hasn't changed
