Star Wars Weekends Crowds & costume question

We're thinking of going for a weekend for Star Wars weekends. Both DH and DS are BIG fans! I was wondering which would be a better weekend crowd-wise? I noticed one weekend was during Memorial Day weekend and another is during Gay Days (I think?) I am NOT looking to start a debate about Gay Days please! We have absolutely no "problem" going during GayDays, we are just wondering how the crowds will be at MGM that weekend. I imagine Memorial Day weekend will be packed? TIA

I had another question! Do the any of the kids dress up in costume for SWW? DS was Anakin Skywalker for Halloween and he loves wearing his costume! Would he look totally ridiculous walking around in it? Can he bring his own lightsaber into the park? Would it give him a better shot at getting picked for the Jedi Training?

We were at Star Wars Weekends last year. I can't answer about the crowds on those weekends since we went earlier in the month. There were a lot of kids and adults in costumes though. A few had light sabers too. My kids wished they had dressed up! I didn't notice any one reason kids got picked for the Jedi training although they all seemed to come from the front of the crowd.

We went to the Star Wars weekend on the first Saturday in June (Gay Days is at MK on that day) and it was great. I didn't think the crowds were bad and there was still plenty of entertainment scheduled and merchandise available. I would definitely choose that weekend over Memorial Day weekend.
