This is our first trip to WDW. And we found out that we will be there for the star wars weekend. Which we must now do. Anyways my question is, is it better to go on the friday or the saturday. We leave sunday so that is out. If we go friday, will they have all the stuff as saturday?

Lastly, should we also go to MGM another day during our trip too, to do the other stuff there? (in case it is so crowded)

Thank you,
Ondy

::MickeyMo We went to MGM on a Star Wars Weekend last year and I didn't find it to be really crowded. If you want to see the stars and everything, you would need to go on a Saturday or Sunday. Maybe it was me, but I didn't think the crowds were bad. ::MinnieMo

We got there last year on the last day. We were not able to get to MGM till 2:00pm. We went right to the star tours ride. There was a little crowd. My husband put our DS on his shoulders to be picked for the Jedi Acadamy. He was picked! It was so exciting!! They gave all the kids lightsabers to train with. They showed them how to use them. Then Darth Vader and Darth Maul came out to battle after! Each kid got to battle. They picked about 30 kids. After they had to return the lightsaber. They passed out Star Wars action figure for the kids to keep. They also got a certificate from the Jedi Acadamy. I framed my DS and its hanging in his room. We cant wait to go back this year!

We didnt have to wait long to ride Star Tours!

ermmm...
when is this
i'd like to go but i dunno if we'll be there or not

Thanks for the help, I think we will probably go on saturday then. My sons so want to be picked for Jedi Training. I just wanted to make sure we could still do RNR And TOT, I was worried it would be way to crowded on those days. But I guess we will chance it.

You'll be fine. We went two years ago and did everything we wanted at Star Wars and rode everthing.

You shouldn't have a problem. We never have. Plus you'll have a blast!

By the way, I just found out on www.theforce.net that Daniel Logan (the young Boba Fett) will be one of the celebrities at the first Star Wars Weekend. Look for an official announcement on celebrities around the first of April. That's when the list came out last year. :drinking1 :teacher:

Thank you all so much, I love this board since I found it, everyone is so helpful!

I actually bumped my trip back a day so I don't fly out until Saturday night on May 21st to make sure I get to see some of this!

where did you find a list of which celebrities are going to be there this year? I went on the "force" website, but couldn't find it.

The crowds won't be bad at all we went on a Saturday last year during SWW and the wait times for TOT and RNR were short. I think that I noticed that at noon the wait for RNR was like 25 minutes in stand-by but up until that time it was virtually a walk on. I would recommend anyone going during this time to go to MGM during SWW. If you can get there before the official park opening they even put on a show for everyone in line :goodvibes

Good decision! I'll be there this year for SWW. I think the theming is great and a lot of fun if you like SW. :)
