I'm planning a trip to WDW for our first SWW. My DH and DS are HUGE Sw fans and I can't wait for them to experience this. For those of you who have gone..give me any tips you can on how to make this a truly SW magical trip for my boys. They both deserve it. Also..any other websites that have info on the weekend would be helpful. Do we need xtra tickets for anything??? Thanks so much!

Last year was the 1st year my son participated in any SSW activities. Other years, we went and he just "sat on the side lines." There are tables set up with sign up sheets for the different events. You need to locate these tables and ask if there is anything available to sign up for. DS (11) was invited to be in the parade last year. Being shy, he declined. Afterward, he wished he wouldn't have been chicken. Last year we went 2 different weekends. The 2nd weekend, he wasn't invited into the parade, so he was really bummed he didn't do it the 1st weekend. We'll be there 2 weekends this year as well!

Can you tell me where these tables/sign up sheets are located? I know my DS would love to participate in anything he can!!!

You want to make sure that they wear bright clothing and get to the Jedi training as soon as the park opens. My DS got to participate. You have to remember to be loud so they get picked.

I remember some tables set up near Star Tours. We didn't stop to sign up for anything (so I am not positive what they were for), but met some characters and they have a show to the left of Star Tours. I think, Jedi training. Just be careful and don't stand in a wet spot to try to take a picture in front of the snow walker. I was caught off guard. :umbrella:

While waiting for the park to open, they had storm troopers on the roof above the entrance. Also, the parade is fun to watch to see more of the characters.

We have gone the past 2 years (when DS was 8 and then 9), and are planning another trip for this year. It was lots of fun! The "Obi-Wanna-Be" (sp?) stuff was fun for the kids, IF yours gets picked. About every hour they choose children to "train" (a few rehearsed moves) with a light saber, then they get to battle with either Darth Vader or Darth Maul. It was very ceremoneous: they get to put on robes, march out to "SW" music, get a certificate, etc. This past year they did it with both "Darths" at the same time (separate arenas), which meant more kids had a chance to participate. Then there are the characters! It was fun to see who you could spot -- and the costuming was spectacular! We didn't really hang around for parades or anything else.

This year (if I'm not mistaken???), the SWWE will be when the newest movie opens. Wow, I'm hoping that will be extra fun!

My DS is probably too young to participate in anything...He's 2 1/2 . Although He does have 2 lightsabers here at home and uses them quite well battling his Daddy. He even sings Darth Vaders song while he's battling. It's too cute. Keep the info coming guys. This is great!!! Do they have the list of stars that will be there out yet?

Princess-rn, your son sounds a lot like my grandson, Sean. He'll be 3 in two weeks and has the light sabers and "does" the Vader "breathing"!! It's hilarious! I'm hoping his mom, also a nurse, lets him come with us in May. I'll be taking my 4 yr old grandson, Jake. I can't wait!! :Pinkbounc
