Star Wars Weekend Tips 2012

I have news on the R2-D2 Mug! Here's where you can get it:

1. A chocolate milkshake at Min & Bill's
2. A Frozen Carbonated Beverage at Peevy's Polar Pipeline

Thank you for this!!! My kids are thrilled!

I will see if DR can post a video or pics from last year's PMC. Both of our kids did it - MaryHadley was 3 at the time. I think they did the challenge 2 or 3 times - can't remember, but they had Ahsoka Tano as the character each time they participated. I can't remember which toys they got, but it was basic action figures. They both still remember the final questin and which color lightsaber was for which answer! Blue lightsaber - Chewbacca, Green lightsaber - Sully :rotfl2:

Melissa,
Cool pics! It looks like you had a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing! :)

SWW is something we hope we can do when we visit in a few weeks! :thumbsup2

Cathy

I think C-3PO is for the movies with Stig and Oopla, and Ashoka and some guy for CW :p

Starring Rolls closes between 4- 4:30 so that won't work.
The cupcakes where available at Toy Story Pizza Planet and ABC Commissary.
Has anyone purchased any of her tees? Wondering how they fit and what the quality is like. I was thinking of getting one to wear to SWW so I can match Hubby and the kids. (They already have SW shirts.) Thanks.
I purchased the Daddy's Issues shirt. I usually wear a medium but ordered a large and it fits perfectly.

1) Just a pet peeve, but it is Ray Park, not Parks. We go to the parks to meet Park. Despite what anyone may think of Ep. I, Darth Maul was pretty cool, and Ray did a great job. Let's give him his due as a fantastic action star.

2) From my own experience, try to space out the activities. Trying to do everything in one day wold be too much, even for hard core vets.

3) As far as ADRs go, make them as best you can. We booked 180 days out because we knew from last year that it was going to be packed and tough to manage. No matter what time the parade is - 11, 11:40, or 12:40, there will be big crowds and those of you that do the hour ahead wait will do that no matter what time the parade is. I would suggest doing a later lunch to be clear all around.

4) Pick your number 1 autograph person and go for them on Friday, if possible. Then rank the rest accordingly, and go down the line. Of course, if you didn't make it early enough Friday, go earlier Saturday, but get your #2 or #3, etc..

5) Always have a Plan B. And a Plan C. And a D. Invariably, something will go wrong, be off track, or whatever. Having multiple backups is a huge key.

6) Be cool. There are lots of things that can and will try to get you worked up. Don't let it. Remember, you are there to have fun, and it is still a vacation.

I loved him as Toad in the first X-men movie. :cool1:
If you are going to see Ray Park, his one-man show is great. there' s also the Stars of the Saga show, get there early to see the stormtrooper preshow. And if James Arnold Taylor does his voice show again, don't miss it.

James Arnold Taylor One Man show was great we seen both days we were there last year.

It looks like everyone took a break this weekend :thumbsup2
Celebrities will talk to you almost about everything.
For example it doesn't have to be Star Wars related. Ray Park and Warwick Davis would talk about up coming projects (GI Joe and Harry Potter).
There are celebs that are more vocal than others; very talkative celebs are: Ray Park, Ashley Eckstein, James Arnold Taylor, Dee Bradley Baker, Daniel Logan, Jeremy Bullock
Not very talkative from my past experiences: Tom Kane and Jake Lloyd (like I said before Jake just seemed "out of it")
Now the problem with celebs that are talkative is that they'll spend more time talking to each guest and then have no time at all to meet anyone with a standby pass.
For example: Matthew Wood (voice of General Griveous) talks alot and he only could see about 40 people per signing hour. Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) didn't talk at all and could sign more that 75 people per hour sohe would be able to get people with guaranteed fp and people with standby's.
James Arnold Taylor is so nice he talks to you for a little bit. Last year he even spent extra time at the Disney VIP tour guide's dismay signing for everyone in the stand by line. I think he went over his hour by 20-30minutes. If any one is interested he has a fan facebook page.

Hey Jedis, Padawans and Siths, I found some new info on food offerings during SWW (this is from the HUB):
The R2D2 bucket will be used with the following itens:
1.- The Kids Power Pack in an R2D2 Bucket, available at Quick Service Restaurants throughout the park. (includes: cheese stick, Goldfish,Yogurt, Carrot Sticks, Cookie and kid beverage)
2.- Corn dog and chips in an R2D2 bucket, available at the Herbie's cart.
3.- Churros in an R2D2 Bucket at Darth's Mall.
The most ineteresting thing is that they're calling the Merchandise Tent Darth Mall..goes with the theme
Awesome. So the Churro bucket will be at the Merchandise tent? My husband seen this and has to have it. Also is the tent going to be in the same location as last year?
:lmao: Love it!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope they have the SW cupcakes again too!

Me too they where delicious. I might be getting them with every meal that weekend :rotfl:

Is there a line for a pic with a stormtrooper? Or do u have to catch them wandering around the park?
Thanks!!

I hope everyone had a good weekend.
Feisty Fairy: The merch tent should be in the same area as last year (behind RnRC and ToT)
Walked around DHS yesterday and didn't see any signs of the tent being put up or the Hat stage. I think they do it 1 to 2 weeks before the first weekend.

I just noticed you ticker you will love your first SWW. We were not suppose to go this year but after finding out that we could not make Celebrations in Orlando this year we decided to go to SWW especially after my husband found out Ray Park was going to be there. Darth Maul is is favorite character. We loved it last year.

So, I showed my kids the PMC video and older DS said that he's not dying to do it, but probably wants to do it. I was half-hoping he didn't want to since it's our only HS day and I don't want to worry about signing up, planning our schedule around it, etc. I guess we'll make a decision as we get closer.

Can someone tell me how far in advance you need to be in line to get into the celebrity speaker shows?

This is how I feel about doing it. It's too easy for me, but it's something to do. I'm gonna sign up if there's nothing else going on.

Most touring sites say 20-30 minutes early.

I got some confirmation of shows for this year from the HUB (CM only internet):
Stars of the Saga Q & A, Behind the Force,Obi Wan and Beyond and Visit to the Maul (only 1st two weekends) are returning.
I expect that the schedule will be very similar to weekend 3 and 4 from last year.
As I find more info I'll post it here.
MTFBWY

Visit to the Maul is great- highly recommend it as a way to sit down, get out of the heat for a bit and enjoy a great show! (Kind of bummed we will miss it this year...)

Any leaks of more merchandise yet? I am wondering what color the T shirts are going to be this year.... I am REALLY hoping they are not black since I am guessing they will be Donald Maul related...
