DW and I will be there for the last Star Wars weekend. Not having any kids, we'er not interested in collecting autographs, or seeing people dressed up in costume (meeting the actual actors, maybe, but not reenactors). What's there for adults? An expanded collectibles section? Movie props (like the exhibit in Boston that's going to be touring the country soon)? Anything like that? I know that some actors, prop people, etc. are often there, and that an exact schedule for their appearances hasn't been released yet- but any other info would help. Thanks!

Last year, and I believe every year, they had a Q & A show that lasted about 45 minutes (?). Both the actor from the SW films and the behind-the-scenes guest were interviewed separately and some films clips/montages were shown. It was more oriented towards families/adults than, say, the Jedi Training opportunity, which is for younger children. There's a SW edition of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. There are some limited edition collectibles in Tatooine Traders. Other than that, it was pretty geared towards kids. DS10 is the big SW fan in our family, but we all had fun and are going back again this year for opening weekend.

:darth: :yoda: :ewok: :chewy: DW2B and I will be going this May for Star Wars weekend again. I'm a true fan myself. All I can tell you from the last time we went, is that I wanted to take pics with the reenacters cuz the costumes look so awsome :smooth: & Yes there was a lot more things to do, but that's all I wanted. It's fun.

and a tip -- Darth Vadar has the longest lines -- try to get there early

Honestly, the major events at SWW is much more for adults than for kids. There is some serious money being spent by that crowd, and the avg. kid isn't going to spend all day waiting to get the autograph of the guy who played Nute Gunray (Silas Carson.)

Kids mostly want to see the characters, not the actors. Think of it this way: how many little girls do you know who will wait all day to get Paige O'Hara's autograph? Given the choice between Paige O'Hara in a linen suit and sunglasses, or "Belle" in a poufy golden ball gown, the girls are going to run to "Belle" every time. Teens who have stage ambitions may know who Paige O'Hara is, but the little ones will not, and even if you tell them, they usually don't care that much. Same goes for most of the Star Wars cast; especially those who wore prosthetics in the movies. The want to meet Chewbacca, not Peter Mayhew.

Ok maybe I'll find my answer here :confused3 Does anyone know when Star Wars weekend Begin?

'Zactly...since the Star Wars generation is 30+ years old and bringing their kids to see it. :) (Says a 35 year old father of a second generation Star Wars nut. :teeth: )

Have to disagree on the Jedi Mickey line...we walked right up to him, basically. He was in the Sounds Dangerous theater with very little signage pointing you in, crowd was pretty thin for us.

Hopefully next year I'll have my AT-AT pilot's armor together and can participate. The reenactors tend to be from the 501st Legion, also known as Vader's Fist. http://www.501st.com

The Florida Garrison is the primary garrison doing the marching, but troopers come from all over the country to participate.
