I just realized that we will be in Disney the same weekend as the Star Wars Weekend at MGM. I had planned on going to MGM during that weekend and was wondering what the crowds will be like. Has anyone gone to MGM on the Star Wars weekend and is the park really crowded because of the additional characters and events occuring around Star Wars?

Thanks,
SuJo

Its really just a couple of places that are really busy.

1 - Tatooine Traders - had about an hour's wait to check otu
2 - area in front of Star Tours (stage) during actual events
3 - autograph area during wristband and signing times (in front of Indy at 9AM)
4 - WWTBAM during Star Wars editions

The waits for RNRC and TOT were not horrible (around 30 min) on a Saturday. There were so many characters out that there were a lot of lines for those, but they moved quickly and dispersed the people out very well.

Not sure on what day you were planning on going to MGM, but if you just watched the times guides and did not go to the actual SWW events, you will not see that many more people in the park than normal.

The park (MGM) did have more people in it than usual, but like the above post said, it was mostly around the Star Tours area. I'de plan to get there right at opening, and do your most important things first, then get out in the afternoon when the crowds pick up. The crowds were NOT at all like an Easter weekend in MK, but I did notice more traffic as the day wore on.
