We are heading to Hollywood Studios on June 15, the last SWW day. My son is 7 and likes Star Wars, but neither he or my husband are 100% die hard. We won't stand in line to meet any celebrities, maybe a character or 2. I do want to do the parade. What else?? I'd appreciate any tips for a DW regular, SWW novice. :)

One thing I didn't expect (since I wasn't a novice to disney world and therefore didn't read up a ton on SWW) were the crowds. I mean, insane crowds. I'm the kind of person that can do spring break and summer crowds just fine. I don't plan to attempt SWW again. The one thing I wanted to do was the parade. We got there 30 minutes early, thinking we wouldn't get curbside but would be second or third back. We were probably 15 people deep at that point. We couldn't even see the parade. My main point - stake out parade viewing early.

Don't miss the park opening....storm troopers "guard" the gates. If you want to ride Star Tours head there first. The parade is awesome but you have to get a spot EARLY. We didn't even attempt characters the lines are ridiculous. We saw a lot of characters just walking around by the Star Tours ride...not doing autographs just walking around like they "lived" there.

There's an official SWW thread with tons of info. It is worth checking out.

We are SWW veterans. It's fun every year.

Get there at RD. Make sure to watch the Storm Troopers show at park opening-- very funny.

When you enter the park, there is a booth where they give out a SWW times guide/map. Pick one up. It will tell you where to meet characters and the times for the SWW shows. Your son might enjoy some depending on who is there that weekend. You can get this info online in advance, too, if you want to plan.

Stake a place to watch the motorcade at least an hour in advance-- more if you want the shady side of the street.

They are offering a SW character breakfast and dinner experience. It's pricey but may be worth looking into if your son is interested.

New this year is a SW fireworks show at night. That's tops on our list this year.
