My boys were so excited about the Star Wars weekend! I believe it starts on Friday, May 20th. They'll get to see a "real" Jedi.

So now my question. If dh and I can pawn the kids off on the grandparents thursday evening, we'd like to go see the movie. Is it possible to reserve tickets ahead of time, even now?

TIA,
Carren

I checked that myself not too long ago and was not able to find anything yet on the AMC website. Let me know if you find anything out! :cool1:

Check the AMC Theaters website (www.amctheaters.com) or register at moviewatchers.com for their e-mail list. They will send out information about tickets when they become available. We hope to be at the midnight show at AMC Pleasure Island on our upcoming trip. The tickets probably will not go on sale until about 2 weeks before the movie.

If you register at Fandango.com (a site that allows you to pre-purchase movie tickets on line), they'll send you an e-mail as soon as advance ticket sales begin.

We ordered our tickets for the last Star Wars movie before we left for Disney (I think it was back in 2001). We ordered them about a week before we left. I called the number and paid for them over the phone with a credit card, and then just picked them up at the ticket window right before the movie started. We took my son - he was about 10 at that time. They had all of the characters from the movie in the front of the theatre by the screen before and after the movie. My son thought it was the coolest thing in the world - he is a big Star Wars fan.

The Disney link for the theatre is below. The number it lists on that page is (407) 298-4488 to call for tickets.

Star Wars comes out on May 19th which is the same date the last Star Wars movie came out.

Advance tickets for a big movie like this may well go on sale about a month in advance. Check to see which advance ticket company AMC deal with (the specific theater you want to go to, Downtown Dis I'm guessing, not all movie theaters are covered) Keep checking back, about a week before they do go on sale they usually start to advertise the film as being for sale..then they will start to add theaters. Also they don't always put up all the times that are available, I guess they wait to see what the interest is then add more shows if they need to.

AMC allows for tickets to be purchased a week in advance

This is true, however as with the last two Star Wars films, there is a possibility that tickets will be on sale more than a week in advance. Lord of The Rings was another set of movies where the usual advance ticketing policies were not followed, and tickets were available a month in advance. Obviously you can't count on this, so it's best to keep checking back at the relevent websites. A very good website for telling you when advance tickets are going to be available for Revenge of The Sith would be starwars.com......bless them they do love to keep your wallet informed. They will probably even have a link on the home page...don't know this for sure, but they have done this in the past.
