Star Wars Launch Bay wait times?

Curious, I was playing around on Touring Plans, and no matter what time of day, it shows Star Wars Launch Bay has a wait time of 20 minutes to enter. Is that accurate? How is the place even set up anyways?

It depends on what you want to do in there. You can enter the character meet area at any time with no wait. It's in the building that used to house Art of Disney Imagination (or something like that). It's Star Wars themed, with displays, characters walking around, etc... The wait times for the different characters will vary, each character has it's own area. The wait to see the Star Wars film is in a different area, and that's usually not all that long.

I think we basically just want the character M&Gs, and then the cantina? Something about seeing Jawas? Am I dreaming that? lol

The jawas left in 2017. I am hoping they return to SWGE this year! We love the jawas! I have the cutest video of my daughter playing a hand game like Miss Mary Mack with one of them, one of my favorite Disney memories ever

Each character has its own area and wait time. I would say each average around 20 minute waits. Sometimes they may be longer sometimes they may be shorter. You have to wait for each character separately.

Early morning or late evening will give you the shortest waits for the characters. There are 3 M&G, Chewbacca, Kylo Ren and BB*, all in different queues. If you have the Disney Chase card you can meet Kylo Ren with minimal lines from like 10am until 4pm (double check the times on this one)
The cantina is just open so you can go get your pictures. If you want to reead the info on all the replicas and 2 props that will take longer. I would say if you read everything, do the movie and the 3 M&G you can easily spend 2 hours. If it's just a quick look at the replicas and props and M&G then about an hour depending on character lines

When you are in the building looking at Star Wars stuff, you will be able to see the character lines, but not the characters themselves, who each greet in a room that is just through a very short hallway after each line. The lines are separate for each character. You will obviously have to wait behind the people you see, plus another 2-3 groups who have been let into the short hallway past the door/curtain. If there are only a few groups in line that you see, the wait will be under 10 minutes, no matter what is posted. If the line is going back and forth 3 times, with maybe 50-60 people waiting, then you will have a pretty long wait, no matter what is posted. So I think the best thing is to eyeball the lines and see if it's worth waiting for you. As yulilin3 suggests, in our experience, the lines are usually very short at the end of the night.
