I need help strategizing for Hollywood. So much has changed!
We have 4 kids ages 4, 7, 7, 9

1. We want to do Jedi training. Do we rush there to sign up at rope drop? Or wait and ride things first?
2. If I do go to Jedi first, then should my first ride have a fast pass at that point since I’ll be wasting time in a Jedi line?
3. At what point of the day should I work in Star Wars?
4. Is the droid/saber building worth it?

thanks so much!

Sign up for Jedi first because those slots go fast. 90% of people will rope drop either Galaxy's edge or Slinky Dog. The other rides will have minimal wait for the first hour. Then, it will start to even out. Star Wars lines will stay long until the early evening so it doesn't really matter when you hit that up. I had fun making my droid, but I haven't really used it since bringing it home. It turned into an expensive souvenir that sits on my shelf.

If you're planning to attempt to ride ROTR while you're there, getting a boarding group should be your FIRST priority. Once you know what boarding group you're in, that should help you map out the rest of your day in terms of whether you would visit SWGE early or later in the day.

Jedi Training isn't a rush item anymore. There are available time slots even if you don't make your way over to signups until later in the day (if you're going during a slower period, you can likely walk up later in the day and be put in the next group). If you HAVE to have a specific time frame, just head that way after your first ride of the day.

I've heard that the saber building experience is awesome, we haven't done it because the price tag was a little more than we could swallow. But we may do the droid experience next time.

Jedi training isn't what it used to be. The last 2 years we have gone to sign up after riding a couple of rides at RD and there were open times all day. The first time we brought our kids 3 years ago, there was a bit of a line, but we still had plenty of times to choose from. Last year we needed to change our time in the afternoon, and they had 3 kids in the group getting started when we went back to make the change.

This information is a bit outdated. Jedi training is no longer as popular as it once was. The rush to sign up is not necessary. And with the new boarding process for ROTR, the first hour at DHS is extremely busy and the TSL rides as well as MFSR will have long lines right away.

OP, if you want to ride Rise of the Resistance, be at the park about an hour before opening to obtain a boarding group. Try to get a FP for SDD if possible. Ride MFSR closer to park close.

So we r there spring break. Park opens at 9. Should I get my fast passes for slinky dog at 930. Get there at rope drop. Go straight to Star Wars and get a boarding pass for ROTR...
Leave Star Wars...use fast passes til my group is called and then tour Star Wars and ride MF later that night?

You don't have to go to SWGE to get a boarding pass for ROTR - if they are still doing the virtual queue (which it looks like they will be for a while), you will need to open your MDE app once you have entered Hollywood Studios, there will be a link to join a boarding group on the home page of the app. There are some good threads on how the boarding groups work and what to expect, I would definitely recommend browsing those so you feel comfortable with the process before you arrive.

You can definitely try for a SDD fastpass for the morning, just be prepared that they are very hard to get and you may not get what you want. Rope drop at SDD tends to be the better option (head immediately there once they let you in and ride without a FP), if you can't get a desirable time on a FP.
