Every U.S. City and small town will show this movie beginning at 7 PM on 12/17/15. I get that the "official" opening date is 12/18/15.....but come on DCL, please show this movie on 12/17/15.....not as cool a whole day late.....just a friendly suggestion from a good customer....anyone agree/disagree?

That would be better than watching it at midnight on debarkation day, IMO! We will have to see what DCL thinks.

DCL always shows new movies it at 12:01 midnight for their PremEARS at sea. Maybe they will show it earlier...you never know what surprises DCL may have up their sleeve. They seem to be all in with promoting the Star Wars franchise.

I seem to remember them showing another movie early but I could be wrong. Can't remember if it was the day of the premEAR that they showed the movie as the "show" that night at an earlier time.

A few years ago they showed Lincoln 2 days before it opened on land on the Magic. You never know what they might do on the ship. Although I would imagine a very busy theater :)

I believe that rarely there has been an early release onboard. It seems to be when the actual release date and the date they show it early have no port days between them. So it's basically a captive audience. I know there was one time a premear was done at 11:00. I read that it was due to the time zone and switch to/from daylight savings (11:00 pm on that particular cruise was actually midnight on the east coast. So, not really "early".

I agree! Movies should "premear" earlier!! Movie premieres on land now are in theaters at 7pm on the Thursday evening before the typical Friday "premiere date", and I actually spoke to one of the crew about it last year. He said he'd look into it because it would be better for the families with little kids trying to stay up from midnight until the movie ends around 2am. On the Fantasy, the "midnight premears" always seem to fall on the night before the Friday castaway cay day, so we have to pick: enjoy the premiere and be exhausted during castaway cay day, or miss the "premear"! I have written it on comment cards and still I have not seen a change. Maybe if we all start commenting eventually it will improve.
And for other movie fans out there, what is with the Fantasy movie schedules? On recent cruises the navigators show that they showed the same two movies alternating, each movie shown at least 3 times each as the dinner movie. I guess we are among the very few guests who much prefer the movies over the live shows and actually want to see a movie every night. Oh well. I did get to see avengers II in 3D several times on our last cruise, so it could be worse.
Oh, and I posted here on the dis about this exact issue (7pm premieres on land vs midnight on the ships) last year and had no support on this board at all, so we may be the only poeple who care??
Happy sailing!

I have a suggestion... get over it! You're on vacation not back at the mall waiting in line for a movie that will be showing for months.... :rolleyes1
