I'm going October 22 to 29, hoping for an announcement on Star Wars and Animal Kingdom Rivers of Light before our fastpass date (August 23).

Unfortunately, there is absolutely no "regular time" in advance that Disney announces "events," anymore.
This situation has gotten far, far worse within the last year.

It did used to be that much of the info was posted about 6.5 months in advance.
Not so anymore.
Maybe someday they will get the situation under control, but for now... just hope for the best.

we are going Nov 12-19 and same situation. no idea what evening events will be going on at HS and AK. Disney expects us the plan our ADRs 6 months in advance FP+ 60 days out, but doesn't give us the information we need to make our plans.

We will be there during the same time (November 17-19) and we feel we really can't plan anything yet. Hoping this is figured out before our FP day in September. I get the uncertainty with ROL but surely they should know if they are having SW fireworks by now for November. We have been to the World many, many times and this is the worst I have seen it. Not only the uncertainty with the night time shows but I wouldn't be surprised if there will be more adjustments with the park hours. It is impossible to make any sort of plan...We are only going to be in parks for 3 days before a cruise so we have to be able to plan well to be able to do everything we want to do. So frustrated!!!!!
