Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.

Director J.J. Abrams says, “We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud.”

Star Wars: Episode VII is being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer

Very happy to hear that they have finally revealed that the original cat will indeed be a part of the new trilogy!

Teresa will be psyched if the original cat is included

Did not recall a cat come to think if it

What no Johnny depp is he busy Disney doing a live action movie without him is that a good thing or bad thing.

Chip n Dale to replace jawas

Well they was holding his back but they will be in the new one and the next one will be instead of return of the Jedi it be called return of the chipmunk where they fight the evil fab five for control of the Disney empire. And Mickey finds out chip and dale are Mickey father and take control of the Disney empire and have their day in the spot light.

Pete said on the podcast that Max von Sydow was the Bad Guy in Disney's The Black Hole...that was Maximilian Schell, who passed away a few months ago. U.S. audiences might better remember him playing Tea Leoni's father in Deep Impact.

Perhaps Pete was mixing movies up with Flash Gordon? Max von Sydow played Ming the Merciless. It was pretty much as campy, but in this case I think it was far more intentional. :)

von Sydow was also Father Merrin in The Exorcist, Major Von Steiner in Victory, Blofeld in Never Say Never Again, Liet-Kynes in Dune, and Chief Justice Fargo in Judge Dredd - just the ones I remember him in offhand. He's very distinctive, with a deep voice for what looks like a very thin man.
