I just read somewhere that people staying on property .

Guests staying onsite at official Disney resorts (i.e. DVC members using membership points for hotel stays) will enjoy an extra hour of Galaxy’s Edge access. This will happen at a time when the park is closed to everyone else. So, Extra Magic Hours at Hollywood Studios becomes one of the most important aspects of your Star Wars

Wondering if this will be a daily event or like what they do now.

When TSL opened, they had EMH every morning for a while - I imagine they will eventually announce something similar for HS as we get closer to SWGE opening day. This will be open to all guests staying at Disney resort hotels (and very probably also the Good Neighbor hotels near Disney Springs that also enjoy EMH and 60 day fastpass booking)

When Pandora opened, they had 2 hours of EMH every night for the first couple of months. So it could happen.

Yeah it's hard to say for now - I think the TSL extra hours every day was only for the first month, and with the SWGE opening happening in two stages (only one ride open in August, another in Phase 2 - whenever that is) I'm not sure how long they'll keep daily EMH going. Definitely one of MANY things we are keeping our eyes on!
