*sigh*

From "Return of the Jedi"

As soon I as heard about the Blu-ray's coming out, I just KNEW that old George would add something to F, umm, to alter the feeling of the original film.

And sure enough...

For those of you aren't that "into" Star Wars, I can understand the "who cares" emotion you are probably feeling... But for the rest of us...

Just *listen* to that pathetic sounding "No !"

Oy. :sad2:

I liked the original Star Wars, but haven't seen it since it was first released in the 70s. So, not what you'd call a big SW fan.

However, I understand the irritation when someone changes something you liked in the first place - especially a movie. I don't even like them "edited for television."

Sorry.

I'm a "medium level" SW fan. I have all the movies and will probably have to get them on blu-ray too.

I saw an article the other day about the changes. One had to do with making sure something didn't show up in the picture that wasn't supposed to. Also the light sabres will be more vibrant. Other changes were more "drastic". I guess I look at it that he has this vision about how the story should be told he wants to "fix" it. What they should do is allow you to have and watch both versions. That way you can watch the way he wants you to see it, but the history of the other version won't be lost.

Star Tours is actually better than 3 of the 6 movies.

I rode it a ton while we were there, it's now my favorite ride at WDW. Matter of fact, as I look over my shoulder I can see the die cast models of the 6 "new" Star Speeders, as well as action figures of the "Star Tours Travel Agency" and "Ambush at Star Tours".

I feel your pain. I am a huge fan. I feel like screaming "Noooooo!!" myself. Why can't George Lucas just leave things alone?!

George should have just said "Nooooooooo!" when he thought of this idea.

Sticking young Hayden Christiansen into the end of VI beside old Yoda and old Obi Wan was bad enough.

Take a deep breath. It will be okay.

I am a big Star Wars fan. I go to Star Wars Weekend as much as I can. And yes I do have a life. And No I do not dress up.

When it comes to George Lucas tinkering, I have just learned to let go. I have both editions of the movie. I still have the original on Video tape. At least he has made the original version available to the public. I wish he would stop tinkering there was no reason to. I like that they restored it and cleaned it up. But I didn't care for the Greedo shot before Han. Cause let's be honest Han would take anyone out before they had a chance to. Yeah I'm a big Han Solo fan too.

I had issues with the last trilogy. I don't even own "Phantom Menace" on DVD

But with his tinkering whatever. I will still watch. I also didn't care for the Last Indiana Jones. The storyline with the skulls didn't impress me and I didn't buy Shia LeBoef as Indy's son. So It's hit and miss with him lately.

Grew up on the original trilogy and everything that Lucas has done since the end of Return of the Jedi has been a train wreck...with a single exception. Minor alterations in Empire where he made cloud city more 'open' to to appear to be a city in the clouds.

These latest changes?? I can only say.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

Perfection. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I'm not a huge fan of Star Wars, I respect the films and understand they mean alot to alot of people. It just seems to me, they worked out well for so long, why change things? And if he insist on changing things, then why not but it on another blu-ray extras or something. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Did they all suddenly cry out "NOOOOOOOO"?

Just adds to my love/hate relationship with Mr Lucas. I love him for creating the Star Wars universe, but I really hate that he has this sappy/PC side to him. I still haven't really forgiven him for Greedo shooting first. :headache:

If he's going to mess around with the movies there are a couple of things I would love to see changed in Episode 1. First, get rid of the irritating "yippeee!" from darling little Anakin (speaking of irritating, for some reason that one word in one scene turned me off from the whole trilogy) and second, get rid of Jar Jar Binks. Please!

Ok, here's a question: Would the fans protest or applaude if he decided to remove Jar Jar from the movies? ;) :rotfl:

Personally, I think he's a perfectionist that can't ever be completely happy with his own work. He needs an amusement park to run so he can be changing and evolving that instead, like Walt Disney did with Disneyland.

I think that the best thing that Lucas could do is re-edit Ep IV again so Han shoots first, shoots Jar Jar, in the head, multiple times... :rotfl2:

Hey if feels the need to tinker you never know... :lmao:

Oh there's one edit that I wouldn't complain about!!
