STAR WARS AT DISNEY WORLD IN SEPT OR OCTOBER???

So Disney currently has a Star Wars contest where the prize is a vacation to Disney. The catch is you have to take the vacation between Sept. 4 and Oct 31 this year. The prize also includes a Star Wars character meet and greet and a Star Wars inspired themed dining or dessert party. The companion must be 8 years or older too.

So my question is-- Is there anything going on in Sept or Oct for Star Wars??? Is this contest letting the cat out of the bag and something Star Wars related is coming- or could the contest prizes be wrong?

Haven't heard a thing, and wouldn't read too much into a contest such as this.

You are probably right. The thing is I do contests a lot (and win a lot). It is just really odd to make the winner take their vacation during a VERY specific time with a very specific prize unless there is a reason.

If it was a third party giving away the trip that is one thing but this is an actual Disney promoted contest so it makes me wonder.

The M&G would be no big deal to pull as a one-off for contest winners, but I admit the dining/dessert thing is odd. Perhaps there is some consideration for extending the SWW H&V dinner or Galactic Breakfast into this time? Those dates strongly suggest ties with MNSSHP though. I don't know, but might be interesting. Personally I wish they'd just announce DHS's worst-kept secret of adding SW Land and be done with it.

I actually heard from waitress at sci fi last weekend that they are considering making the breakfast permanent. I realize that's about as good as news from a bus driver.

The all caps in your subject got me excited, but it turns out to have just been a question. I have heard a rumor about something relating to Star Wars happening in December, so maybe this is just part of the hype for whatever that December event will be.

My adult nephew is a huge Star Wars fan but has never been able to go for Star Wars weekend. I did a search for the contest so I could tell him about it but could not find anything. Anyone have a link to it?

My belief is that it is entirely possible that the prize meet and greet will be a private event not open to the public, and that there will be nothing new for the public.

I'll still take it as good news. I mean it would actually be smart. At MK you have Crystal Palace & CRT breakfast, not to mention Ohana and CM right there. So then you'd have Dine N Play and Star Wars breakfast at HS. If they were real smart they'd get a Pixar character meal sooner than later.

Now I DEFINITELY think something is going on- the contest vacation window starts September 4th- the EXACT DAY merchandise is being releases. I found this online:

"StarWars.com is thrilled to announce that Star Wars: The Force Awakens products will land in our galaxy on September 4, 2015, at 12:01 a.m. — “Force Friday” — with stores around the world opening their doors at midnight for a special celebration of all things Star Wars. It will be a day long remembered."
