I haven't watched much TV lately -
but theres only HALF Of her on the show -
where did the rest of her go??
I don't know if I like her that skinny (not that I HAVE any say in it - it just looks funny to me)

As far as i know she had gastric bypass. At first she looked good, now she looks odd. It seems that suddenly alot of weight came off. I remember when Al Roker went thru an odd stage with his weight where his head looked huge and shrunken at the same time.

I think it wil take awhile to get used to. She does look a little weird, but could that be just because it's still kind of a new look?

DD was ill and I stayed home with her the other day and saw a few minutes of The View.

My first thought was that she'd had plastic surgery gone wrong. Her face looks so weird--not like when someone loses a lot of weight but like her skin was all tied back in her ponytail.

I didn't know she had gastric bypass...I thought it was sheer diet and exercise like she has mentioned many times on the show. I know they've done segments on the show about this surgery, but I don't remember her saying she's had or will be having this surgery.

Did she ever admit she had GB?

It just looks like her head is sooo big for her body.

I have a hard time watching the VIEW unless Barbara Walters is on that day.
All these women do is talk over each other and half the time you really don't even know what they've all said it's so hard to hear who's saying what.
When Barbara is there it seems a little better and more organized.

I don't think she ever admitted to having gastric bypass, but she will NOT discuss her weight loss. She has said it is her own business. That from a woman who can't be quiet about anything, even her own personal life. It really doesn't take a genius to know what happened, Star.

She has never said how she lost the weight. She has said she does Pilates, and I think they showed that on the View. I am amazed at how good her arms look when she wears something sleeveless. I hadn't noticed her face looking funny, maybe it was just the wig she had on, some of her hair styles are not very flattering.

I'm surprised that if she had GB, that she wouldn't talk about it. Why? Is she embarassed by it? She could be a resource for other people contemplating that type of surgery. I don't think anyone would hold it against her. :confused3

I think she looks like a man in drag. Seriously, that lady bugs the crap out of me. I can't stand to watch her or hear her talk, she's so full of herself.

No she never did admit to GB, but she lost a lot of weight quickly. I have never seen a diet work that fast, besides Al Roker and Randy Jackson(Idol)
both had GB and lost weight fast as did my cousin. So I think she had GB.

I don't watch the show because of her -- I can't stand her! For someone who is supposedly so intelligent, she acts like an idiot most of the time.

You took the words right out of my mouth!

If she had GB surgery (and I believe she did) why is she afraid to admit it? :confused3

thanks for responding -
glad to hear that I am not alone in my thoughts on this...

I thought it was well known that she had actually had the bypass...

Personally, I think she as had Bypass, other surgery, extreme dieting, drugs, psycho-therapy, and everything else!!!! LOL!!!!

But, seriously, you know what I can NOT stand about her look. Man, put on some lipstick girl!!!! You look like 'whiteface' in reverse!!!!! It hurts my eyes!!!

I love it when they spoof her on Saturday Night Live, "My name is Star Jones and yes I AM a lawyer", :rotfl: I think she said she gets a kick out of it too.

I just googled to see if I could find anything on it and here is a question and answer thing from Parade Magazine online:

Q. Is it true Star Jones of TV’s The View had gastric- bypass surgery?
—Latesha Williams, Reno, Nev.

A. For once, the outspoken Ms. Jones, 41, isn’t talking. She won’t comment on reports that doctors ordered her to lose weight or that—like Today’s Al Roker, who lost more than 100 pounds after a gastric bypass—she’ll tell all in a TV segment.
