Star Jones not returning to the View!!!

Maybe it's just me but i'm happy that she is leaving!!!!!! I'm also happy that Rosie is coming on in september. I have heard rumors that Gayle King (Oprah's friend) will be her replacement in September.

I do not know about Gayle she is an Oprah wanna be and I just wish it was someone who was known in her own right.

When Meredith announced her departure, there was sadness, but also lots of well wishes as she embarked on her new journey. It was really touching.

With Star's announcement, there was such a feeling of uneasiness, mystery. It was as if a dark cloud was hanging above. She gave no reason why. Is it because of Rosie coming? Is it because of a bad marriage? Does she have another job lined up? I felt pure sadness but also happiness for Meredith, but with Star's announcement, it just doesn't seem "right". All of the other cohosts seemed surprised too (and not just over the fact that she chose today to make her announcement).

Does anyone have any more scoop??

Oprah had Gail on and they addressed the rumor that she would be joinging the view. Gail said she would love to do it - but no one had approached her about it (yet).

At least that is what I remember.... - my memory goes in spurts.

I'm thrilled that she is leaving! I never been able to watch/listen to her! Rosie is certainly going to change the dynamics of the show. I really expect the cast of characters on The View to change dramatically over the next 2 years!

Howard Stern read something on air this morning about the rumour of her leaving the show and that she would be making an announcement this week. Maybe that's why she did it today, word was all ready out there.

Supposedly, Barbara Walters asked Star to leave the show as one of Rosie's stipulations to her joining the show was that Star would have to go.
Babs and Rosie are close friends.

As far as Stars marriage goes, doesn't Al go both ways? Star herself addressed that fact on the View before they were married. But that he had changed. Maybe he's been strayin'.

Did anyone else notice how happy and pleased Joy seemed to be with this little announcement Star has made???
