Star Island anyone?

Anyone here stay at Star Island and can comment on the resort? Thanks.

We stayed there in 2006. The resort was nice and I believe we were on the second or third floor but it does have elavators. It was three of us in a 1 bedroom. The only thing I didn't like was that the only way to get to the bathroom was to go through the bedroom.

Star Island is a nice resort. Although it's not new, it is well maintained. In fact, my parents prefer Star Island over Bonnet Creek because of the size of the units. There are plenty of planned activities for the kids but most require a fee. They also offer a complimentary professional portrait that's a nice touch. They have pics of the rooms on trip advisor.

Stayed here a couple times... the rooms are pretty big, larger than say Horizons.. granite counters in kitchen, hot tub in the master bath, WiFi... but that's where the good ends.

beds, linens, decor are very Florida, 1991, very "motel" grade. The one time we went in the "heated" pool, it was ice cold. If you're getting a GREAT deal, and will spend all your time in the parks, and just need a place to crash it's fine. But if not, you may want to look around. FWIW

We stayed there about 2 years ago. It was fine. The resort area is pretty and we liked the pool area. I would try to avoid a first floor unit. It seemed that towels did not dry as well and our unit had all the a/c units around it so there was constant noise and no view. That said, we would stay there again without hesitation. I think once they rehab all the units, it will be really nice. It was very quiet. The staff was friendly and they had activities.
