Anyone every been on a star homes tour, do they actually show you any real movie star homes, are there some tours that are better than others?

As a kid in the early 80s I took a day bus tour with my Grandma that did lots of LA things (Hollywood star walk, Hollywood bowl, farmer's market, Santa Monica Pier, Beverly Hills) and the "star homes" part of the tour consisted of driving down a couple of the main blvds and looking at Beverly Hills-modest streetfront homes saying "Lucille Ball lives here," "Walt Disney lived here" etc. Even back then most of the stars lived behind gates and were hidden away.

In college (early 90s) we had a car and bought a star map from one of the streetside vendors in BelAir. Again, lots of stars, lots of addresses, but you'd finally find the "house" and all you see is lots of foliage and a big gate. Totally not worth it.

I went to UCLA and the best starsighting I ever had was at Drake Stadium, UCLA's track. I'd go to climb the stadium stairs or run the track in the morning for exercise, and saw many folks working out there, most notably Sidney Portier and Will Smith. Even said hello since we'd see them there regularly. :cool1:
