Standdard vs Water View room

Hello all!

I'm planning a vacation to Port Orleans French Quarter and was wondering if anyone had any opinions regarding the standard rooms compared to the water view. I know there's no private balconies, but when we stayed at a standard room at ASM, we saw a sidewalk, some grass, and then the parking lot. I felt like I was staying at a regular roadside motel. Are the standard rooms at POFQ the same, or is the landscaping better?

Thanks in advance for your input!
Christine

I was disappointed in our waterview room at POFQ. It was a tree view. There was water, but you had to go outside and bend down to see under the tree. Looking back, a regular view would have been fine there.

We've stayed at POFQ twice and each time had a water view. The first time was overlooking the pool, the second time the river. I'd say in hindsight that any room view at POFQ would be fine. The landscaping and theming are everywhere, unless you are viewing the parking lot.

Just get a standard room. As others said, the water view would be a distant view of the pool (just look at the map) or a view of the river.

The pretty view or rooms are those in the inner buildings of the resort.
