Standby List Question

Hi everyone,

My husband and I just became members and have decided to sat at Vero Beach in June. We needed either a 2 bedroom or 2 studios / Inn rooms. They told us that we are on a standby list for this. We have 1 room guarenteed already as an Inn room. I was wondering if I actually have a shot at getting the other room? Please let me know if you have any suggestions to help me with this. Thank you so much!

Has anyone ever not had their standby reservation come through? Just wondering what an alternate plan might be.

There are two wait lists. One day by day and the other for the entire time. If you wait list for the entire time as once and they get say 6 of 7 days, they will bypass you and give it to someone else. Waitlist day by day if you can.

You always have a chance. This past October we got the BCV for Columbus Day weekend on one day's notice. The wait list had expired but we called to check and sure enough we go our 2BR for that weekend.

If you do a "day by day" wait list your wait list can come though for as little as one day at a time. Lets say you have a Sunday through Thursday reservation. If you do a "day by day" wait list you may get Tuesday. Then a couple of weeks later Thursday. Then a couple of weeks later Sunday and Monday....................

For the entire time means just that. If one night becomes available, DVC won't put it aside for you but will wait for all five nights to come available at once.

Thank you all for this infor. We are only going for 3 days to Vero Beach. I need to ask my husband if he put entire week or day by day. We already have 1 room guarenteed but we have 8 people traveling together and the room only holds 4. I am sure it will all work out.
