Has anyone seen a "standard car" row at National? If so, can you remember what was on it?
Thank you.

Nope. As a matter of fact, when I reserved a standard, they were intent on giving me an intermediate. Book intermediate or full size; don't bother with standard.

why not just call national at orlando to see what they offer....they would have the best answer for you

it has been posted before that a standard is a two door car, but there does not seem to be many two door rentals that i have ever seen

Good point and I will do just that.
They picture a Monte Carlo as their car, a two door full size according to Chevrolet.
They also state a two or four door car. Rather confusing.
Will call and let you know what they say for future reference.

I just got back. I got a 2 door Dodge Stratus from the EA. I believe it's classified as an intermediate car. There were a lot of 2 door Stratus's on the aisle. No min-vans, convertibles or other special cars.

I suspect National got tired of people hoping to rent a min-van at an intermediate price.

They list a standard as a 2 or 4 door car. They show the Monte as one of the cars.
I have only ever seen Monte Carlos on the full size row.
I did not use the EA for this rental because of their new rules.
If their phone service gets restored before I leave I will give a call.

probably why there were so many 2 doors on the EA, they were overstocked with them on the intermediate aisle ( maybe people prefer 4 doors )

priceless code and entertainment coupon

I rented Monte Carlo's twice last year and my receipt said standard. I think I got them off the EA with intermediate price. I think standard and full size are the same price.

That is what I come up with for my dates for a full size. Very small difference. If I don't get to National in Orlando soon, I will just modify my reservation to a full size.

now you will not have to worry about the Alamo unknowns of Quicksilver

and good thing you have already booked and can modify....

looks like national's september rates are on the rise now....

Well, my friend still has a QS reservation. And, you can go to the garage, get the car and use the coupon at Alamo. Nice to avoid the lines.
I did modify my reservation to a full size before the jump in price, so, I am now good to go.

Do you skip the counter with quicksilver?

Debbie,
I called Alamo at Orlando, twice. And, both times the agents told me to go to the garage, select the car and proceed to the exit kiosk and everything would be processed there, including the coupon. So, the answer to your question is yes.

maraakl

just got off the line to quicksilver info ....( was asking about quicksilver number not showing up )

when i asked her about orlando procedure, her screen told her there was just a "quicksilver line" at Orlando, so who knows what or who is right until someone has actual experience

lawgs,
I called the folks at Alamo at Orlando, twice. They assured me that I could go to the garage, 2xs. The central reservations for Alamo are mostly in India, Indiana and Boca Raton, they are reading from a screen.
After reading one posters experience, I went from there and asked the "source".
I will definitely post when I get back.

BTW, I got the same information you did from QS and Alamo's national number. Frankly, I am going with what they said in Orlando. Not to be argumentative, but, I think they know more about what is going on at their site than the Alamo reservationists.

maraakl

no argument at all....

that is why i said...

so who knows what or who is right until someone has actual experience
