We are going Jan 23-30. We got a Standard room at WL at an ubelievable price. Am I asking too much to request an upgrade? My biggest motive is that we woulld love to hear the water pageant at night as we are putting the kids to bed (last visit I had them believing that it was mermaids singing). Also if one asks for an upgrade anybody got ideas on the best way to do this ? Ask at the desk or fax requests before time??

Welcome to the DIS, Princesses X2!

Your best bet would probably be ask when you check in. They may offer you an upgrade for free, or they may offer you an upgrade at a reasonable rate. It doesn't hurt to ask, but I wouldn't get your hopes up for a free upgrade--that way you won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen, but you will be thrilled if it does happen.

Have a great trip!

I agree with Karen, I nicely ask if any upgrades are available at check in. Make sure any requests about location, etc, are included on your reservation. I used to fax my room requests and was often very lucky to get great rooms, but since they went to "room ready" mode, I don't know if they give faxes as much consideration - I think they changed things up a bit because they were getting inundated with faxes - I'll start a new thread and see what recent experiences have been about that. Have a wonderful trip - WL is gorgeous !! - and welcome to the DIS :smooth:
