Is there such thing as "standard" characters for Goofy's Kitchen or Storyteller's? I have been reading restaurant reviews and have seen all different characters listed. We will be visiting in October if that matters any! Thanks in advance!

I've had lunch at Storytellers right at the transition period when the characters are making their final rounds. Every time (admittedly only four or so times) seen Chip, Dale, Meeko, Koda, and Kenai.

Interesting! Those are some characters that I hadn't even seen listed in the "possibles"! My kids keep a life long visit character book and would be super excited to see Koda and Kenai. We may do a few character meals throughout the week if there are some rare characters usually at all meals :)

If I'm not mistaken, the Goofy's Kitchen roster of characters was cut back to 5 (which is a pretty standard number for most of the character meals except for Minnie & Friends). I believe you will get Goofy (usually at the entrance photo spot), Chip, Dale, Minnie and Pluto. Chip and Dale are prolific character meal stalwarts, as they also appear at the Critter Breakfast (mentioned by figment_jii above), and at Minnie & Friends too. Pluto is also at Surf's Up, as is Minnie. And Minnie and Pluto are at the Minnie & Friends breakfast at the Plaza Inn.

I do wish that each character meal had a completely different line-up of characters.

We just went to Storytellers and saw Dale, Meeko, and the big one from Brother Bear. That was it. We were there almost 90 minutes waiting for more. Without exaggeration, I'd say we got about 3 minutes of character interaction time.

There are only characters at Storytellers at breakfast (no characters at lunch or dinner).

I went to Storyteller's in December and we saw Chip, Dale, Koda, Kenai, and Meeko.

Like Sherry mentioned above, Goofy's is now standardized with Goofy, Minnie, Chip, Dale, and Pluto. It used to have a wide range of characters who would show up at random, which may be what you're seeing in the reviews. I know when I went there in 2012 we saw Rafiki, Donald, the Mad Hatter, etc.

Even though you didn't mention it in your original question, your best bet for a variety of characters is Plaza Inn. Even though they have a fairly standardized list, it's of about a dozen characters versus the 5-6 the others get. And you get some rarer characters there such as Fairy Godmother, Captain Hook, and Max (Goofy's son)!

I didn't mention Plaza Inn because I thought it was the standard meal with Minnie and Pooh and Friends-we will be seeing Minnie at PCH breakfast already and my kids have no interest in Pooh and Friends characters. Who the "regulars" at Plaza Inn now? Right now we are planning on Ariel's Grotto and PCH Grill and wondering whether we should add a third character meal or not....

My kids just went to Plaza Inn and I think they saw Minnie, Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Fairy Godmother, Chip, Dale, Capt Hook, Rafiki and Max.

We're doing a storyteller's cafe because my gf's favorite is Meeko. I hear that he isn't guaranteed. I really hope that he shows.

Wow!! That is a ton of characters at Plaza Inn!! Is that standard to have that many at one time? We will be visiting in October-will the characters change by then?

I wasn't with them this time, so I can't be positive, going from memory of what they told me. But I can tell you every time I've been to the Plaza Inn breakfast there has never been fewer than eight characters, and I think the most we ever saw was twelve. It's definitely the best for quantity, and the quality of the interaction has always been good. Those seem to be pretty close to the standard ones there, although we have also met Baloo, Mr Penguin from Mary Poppins, Mad Hatter, Peter Pan, White Rabbit, and Rabbit from Pooh at different times.

Thanks for that great info! I think we will book Plaza for our last morning and hope we get lucky with characters!!
