How hard has this reservation historically been to make at 7 mo out in early April and/or early June? Our boys are little now, but as they get bigger I know we'll want some more space especially during our longer trips. I know the 1 BRs are less popular than studios, but do they stick around long enough that I won't need home resort priority? Thanks!

THe BWV standard and boardwalk view 1BRs are typically open at 7 months out during the entire 8 1/2 month period that begins the Monday after marathon weekend in Jan and ends late Sep. That has been true for a long time.

As to the future, that could possibly change if Disney makes allowable changes, like (a) lowering points needed for 1BRs and raising them for studios while keeping total points appicable to the resort the same, (b) raising points needed for the Oct to December period that is in choice and adventure seasons, while lowering them for spring break weeks or summer months, (c) creating more new events that attract large numbers of DVC reservations, e.g., 2016 was the first year for the Star Wars Dark Side weekend with a half marathon in mid-April; that weekend, after being announced in 2015, instantly became the second highest DVC demand time during that 8 1/2 month Jan to Sep period -- first was still the Princess half marathon weekend in February; however, even for those the BWV 1BRs (all views) were open at 7 months out.

drusba, I just wanted to thank you for all the great info you share with everyone on the DVC forums. Your generosity is appreciated. So lucky to have you here!

Ditto! Drusba has so much great knowledge and it's always laid out in a clear and logical manner. Drusba, you don't know it but I used the information that you posted to determine how I purchased my DVC membership. Of coarse I also did my own research but I can say you are always spot on. You are a treasure!
