Not that I need another obssession ( on top of scrapping and disney ) , but I have been looking into starting to stamp . Any one else into this ? Looking for suggestions on good links , techniques , etc .

I've acquired a few stamps in the past 6 months...I made the mistake of going to the Memories Expo in Orlando...they had Stamps by Judith there and she has such cute designs I couldn't pass them up!.....and of course I want more, more, more...LOL
I'm trying to be good though.

Her stamps are at ...www.stampsbyjudith.com

I haven't ventured anywhere else.....Yet!

There is a company called Stampin' Up and they are wonderful. If you can find a consultant in your area she can help or go to their website at
stampinup.com It is the same premise as Creative Memories where you buy from some one else, but they have everything you need and you can buy sets of stamps that go together for a lot less then buying them individually. They also have lots of stuff for scrapbooking. I scrap and stamp, but I do not mix the two. I hav too much stuff and not enough run to do the both. Maybe in the next house when I get my own workshop. :D :D

Stamps are one of the first things that I purchased to enhance my scraping. Everyone knows they can give me a stamp for a gift and I’ll be in heaven.

I tend to buy stamps that I can use for multi purposes. Hearts, stars, palm trees, feet, mountains, leaves, oh yes and Mickey, Minnie, and Donald, et all. I also have solid background stamps that can be used without and with the other stamps. I took a class at my local stamp store. (I was the only scraper there) It was great and gave me a plethora of ideas and introduced me to products and techniques. That’s what I’d recommend if you’re looking into stamping. The scrapbook that I am working on right now is my vacation to Las Vegas last month. Before the trip I got a slot machine stamp to use. I tried various different methods prior to my vacation and came up with 7 styles that I liked.

As far as the expense goes…..yes the initial purchase of stamps, ink and other stuff can be expensive. But I have been collecting them for a few years by way of Michael’s and other’s coupons. People that have purchased stamps for a project have been kind enough to hand them down to me. And….. I have to admit that I pick them up at garage sales and places like the Goodwill.

Again, try a class. But watch out you may become addicted ! ! !

I recently got into stamping and love it. Glorified coloring. I have been making cards.

Here's the killer......I made a Birthday and Mothers Days cards for MIL. I did get a thank you for the card, but I don't think she knew I made them. I was crushed. I spent hours on each card.

Thanks guys . Glad to know I can come to my fav. spot for info . I like some of the other scrap/stamping boards , but the friends on this board are the best.

Stamping is a wonderful addition to your scrapbooks, and you can use the stamps for so many other things, too.

I've been a Close to My Heart consultant for over 2 years and love all the stamping ideas for scrapbooks. It is a wonderful hobby and it's not THAT hard to start out small and build your collection as you go.

You might look around and find a few stamps or a stamp set that you could use in your album that you might also use other places too (cards, invitations, thank yous, decorating party favors, recipe cards, etc.)

I have a bunch of samples of cards and layouts on my CTMH website, www.Hearts2Hands.com.

I also have a bunch of our catalogs that are about to expire when the new ones come out, if anyone would like to have one as an idea book, just e-mail me and I'll send it right out to you.

I'd be glad to answer any questions as you get started. I'd definitely recommend you give stamping a try.
