Hi,

Looking through the excellent book I have bought (thanks Simon), I have a question for Florida veterans.

Q. Is it best to get to the parks early, do your stuff, and then just glide for the rest of the day and leave before the madding crowd?

or,
going in high season (31st may for 14 nights)

is it best to start the day at a more leisurely pace, and stay until chucking out time?

I don't fancy the thought of driving to and from the parks to have a break back at the hotel (we are staying on Intl Drive) so Iwould rather get there early, or get there at lunchtime ish.

your esteemed thoughts please..............

thanks
Lynne

For the first couple of days you'll still be adjusting your body clock to US time and are very likely to be wide awake by 5am! Make the most of it and hit the parks early :teeth:

As you get used to the time zone you can switch to whatever time frame suits you best, but make sure you plan some early mornings as well as some late nights into your schedue so that you can experience the rides / shows that are best at particular times of day.

Kilimanjaro Safaris, for example is supposed to be best early on before the animals hide away out of the sun. The night-time parades and fireworks are a must but are only shown at, er, night-time!

We've been this time of the year a couple of times and it's great because the weather's fantastic, the sun's up early and goes to bed later . . . and that's just what we do:sunny:

Even when we've stayed on site, if we have gone back to the hotel it's because we've arrived in the park around 9am, finished in there at around 3-4pm, head back for a swim and food and then head out to another park for evening parades etc.

To be hoenst, we're happy just taking our time in one park if we know we're going to be there all day and into the evening.

But most of the time it's planned so that it's one park during the day, and a different park for the evening.

By staying on IDrive, you're IMHO too far away to comfortably have an afternoon break - especially if there are roadworks.

Excllent time of year to go, weather great, crowds not to bad(apart from memorial weekend), last weekend of May.

You can rest when you get home!!!!

Hi

We always stay offsite and usually go at a leisurely pace around the parks. We usually get there in the morning early ish and stay into the evenings. That way we can see most of what we want to and have plenty of time to stop for drinks, food, ice cream! and sometimes just to sit and take in the atmosphere! I love the evenings in Disney..::yes::

Thanks everyone for your advice

better start taking the vitamin pills................

Everyone is different, we get to the parks early - it's the best time of the day to go.
The crowds should be at their lightest and the weather should not be too hot either.

Arrive early, have a good three hours round the park, leave for the afternoon when you can relax or go shopping etc and then return tea-time for another couple of hours - obviously sometimes you will return to the same park or maybe a different one depending on your choice.

I know people spend all day round the parks but we, despite our frequent trips, find this impossible.
