Stalking pays off!

We decided to add 2 nights in Nov. to attend MVMCP and Jollywood nights before our Merrytime Cruise. We booked sometime after our 7 month window and I really wanted to use as little points as possible since I am saving for a big Thanksgiving trip 2025.

I was able to snag a Copper Creek 1 bedroom a few months ago which was great, except we have stayed there the last 3/4 trips and are staying there in Jan. After stalking last month. I grabbed BLT but we stayed there the other trip. Really wanted Boardwalk or Beach Club since our kids haven’t stayed there. Last month I was able to switch to a 1 bedroom at Boardwalk, garden view. Still not wanting use 82 pts for 2 days when we will barely be in the room, I’ve stalked and waitlisted a BWV studio. Tried this morning while drinking my coffee. Nothing. A few minutes later, I refreshed and there it was! A BWV standard studio for 34 points. I was quick enough to book it and loved seeing the 48 points between the 1 bedroom vs studio back in my account!

We’re on the Fantasy 11/10. After the cruise I have to pay rack rate for the night of 11/16 at the Yacht Club. I’m so tempted to move our 3 nights after the cruise to the Swan. I’d save $750. I just really love Stormalong.

I stalk all the time and have great luck. But we book just 1 or 2 nights as we live local. And I too have refreshed and found something. One time I even clicked on the month to see if any other nights were open and the night I wanted showed available then (when it wasn't available with initial search).

Congrats! I just had two nights at BWV in December fill. Hubby really wanted to be there instead of my beloved RIV…didn’t think it would happen but it did!

I was tempted to book Dolphin the weekend before the cruise but wasn’t sure how DCL transfers worked so I stalked to find Boardwalk. Even Swan/Dolphin seemed high to me.

We are staying at Universal for the night of the 16th. Somehow our 6 night cruise has turned into 9 nights with 2 nights at Wdw, 6 nights on the cruise and 1 night at Universal for the Orlando Informer meet up. I’m going to need a vacation after all this holiday fun.

We’re doing Universal the night before the cruise instead of after. We have annual passes for Uni so it seems we shouldn’t spend money to buy the OI meetup tickets. Although it’s so tempting!

Great job! I've always had great luck with stalking. I find early morning the best (3-4 am).

We've been adding night after night to a "last minute" visit. Our son is at a seminar near WDW so we decided to give him DVC points. We then decided it was a good excuse for a visit of a few days. Talked DIL into going for a few days. We are now up to 7 nights through stalking and they are at 5. So much for a few nights and a few points LOL! After borrowing 2025 points, doing internal transfers between contracts, OTU points out of two contracts and now a transfer from another member, we are finally THERE.

The flexibility of DVC and ability to change, move, beg, borrow and steal from your own contracts is key. Honestly, if we weren't 28 year members I'm not sure I would have such a handle on everything it took to make this work.

So after selling so many contracts in the past several years, we need to add on again. Family meeting at Topolino's has been called. DH wants Poly. I do too, however $$$$$$$$$$. BWV crazy? AKV or SSR SAP (why did I sell them?) Decisions, decisions...

It's crazy to think how fast you can miss something even if you're constantly stalking. I just saw two BWV rooms open up together for the first time in weeks...I went to modify but realized it wasn't going to work...I refreshed and poof they were gone just as fast. If I hadn't stalked at that moment I would never have known that option opened up...who knows what we miss when we aren't looking!

Yep. It's crazy. Good thing I have time on my hands to stalk like crazy. LOL

I just stalked and got 2 nights at Hilton Head for a stop on our drive north this weekend. Granted it is hurricane time so that's likely why someone canceled their resie. But we don't mind a storm. Just need a little layover on our 14 hour drive. And if there is some good weather mixed in...bonus.
