Does anyone know if those stainless steel drink containers are allowed in the parks?

100% sure...I took the Africa Trek tour at AK and they GIVE you a stainless water bottle as part of the paid tour.

They were in December 2012, because that's what I brought into the park. No problems.

In case anyone is interested Walmart has a princess stainless steel thermos and I believe they had Cars as well

Yes, Thermos Funtainers. They are awesome. DS loves the angled straw because it is easy to drink while in a stroller or carseat.

I second the Funtainers. Our kids have used them for years. They keep drinks cold and are generally leakproof. The only down side is they are pretty heavy.

Yep they are. My kids each had their thermos container (the bigger one) in their bag.

It was great since I would, fill it with ice in the am and slowly add the cold (bottled) water and they still had ice cold water when I would go fill them later that night after our break. We went in August.

Dh and I just had the double insulated plastic water bottles and the ice melted much quicker but it wasn't steamy hot.
