Hi,
All right - just the facts:
- I get in line. 49 people in front....
- About 20 minutes later I enter the room.
- Word for word from room information: "When I say go, Race to the top and then race back down. Winner gets pin of choice if pin Hula is wearing."
- After three races (about 10 minutes in line), my turn.
- I win. Yay!
But wait...
- Hula tells me to sit on the coffin for run off with next round and opens gate to let others in. (WHAT?!?!?!)
- I asked, "Didn't I win a pin?" Hula replies, "No. You have to race again against the winner of the next race." Me, "Oh, ok" sits down. (WHAT?!?!) Was worried about getting the boot if I questioned her.
- Next group comes in to start race. Hula says, "Ready, Set, Go!"
- Someone cheated. Hula called her on it and told her to change her signature as it was not allowed.
- Hula says, "Okay, ready for a fair race? Ready - Set -"
- Do I even need to tell you what happened next?
- Hello, DC Monster!
Ok -
1. I challenge anyone to show me where it says anywhere in the rules that I have written word for word as shown in the (i) on Hula's room where it says that I have to play a SECOND game! It's not there! What the - ?
2. Are you kiddding me? We are somehow supposed to get in there, last through two or three races before we get to play, then race, then wait through another race, then race again?!?!?!? You have got to be kidding right? They KNOW we DC before all that can get done.
I feel like I just got completely cheated in a host game. So messed up. And there is NOTHING I can do! So wrong! If you have to play twice, PUT IT IN THE RULES! Others were upset about this too. And, if you KNOW we can't last that long, why do you design the game as such??!?!?!? The game was fun - but to make it through three with out a dc is a miracle. (Not to mention having to sit there while a player with a completely rude signature has to get disciplined. Come on ppl, you know you cant say things like that!) I am so mad right now - I can only imagine how a kid who goes through this must feel.
Thank you for listening. Anyone else get messed over by a host game?
Updated Edit:
After waiting in the queue to get back in the room with the idea to try to talk to Hula - hey - it's worth a try - here's what happened:
Upon returning to the room - I waited for the current game to end. I asked her if I could play in the "play off round" since i dc. She said yes. After two groups played the game, it was my turn. Before taking my spot for the game - Hula clicked to trade with me. was given a pin of my choice.
Hula was very nice about it and knew that I had dc'ed while waiting to play my "play off" round. She remembered me and clearly had noticed I had dc'd earlier. Although the fair thing to do would have been to give me a chance to play without waiting in line, she went the next step and offered me a pin.
I would like to state that this issue was not a gripe about Hula. Not at all. She has always been nice to me and has always run friendly rooms in my experience. My frustration was in the game that I feel is structured to be too long with two rounds. And of course - the DC Monster - who just loves me.
And I should add - it seems that the posters in the room DO state that you have to play two rounds. I read the (i) screen, which did not. I always fear clicking on the posters because they have made me dc in the past. Hula explained to me that this issue no longer exists.
Thanks for my pin Hula. I appreciate you realizing the DC Monster frustrates us all.
Should be wearing a pretty little zebra pin (but not!),
