Ok crazy as this might sound to some I worry about asking them.

DS and I are going to US next week. Since it is just the 2 of us it makes photo taking a bit hard to get us both in picture. Does anyone know if its ok to ask a staff member to take a quick photo of us?

Clearly not going to take advantage of this but would like to get 3-4 in that week with us in the park or hotel together without my arm shoved out sideways holding the camera.

I don't think the Team Members would mind at all.

Team members are more than happy to take pictures of you anywhere in the parks, restaurants and hotels :thumbsup2

We have asked plenty of times and plenty of times they have offered before we get the chance to ask them........they are brilliant ::yes::

Have you considered buying the Photo Connect package? We LOVED having all of our ride photos and other photos from around the parks, including the Simpsons couch photo op and the one in the ET gift shop.... It was WELL worth the price!!! (BTW, the roaming Photo Connect photographers will usually follow you around wherever you want them to go! We got some great shots on the bridge by Hogwarts one day!!!)

I have heard that there are not as many photographers as with DW photo-pass. Has this changed at all / are there more photographers around the parks?

If anyone knows can they please reply? I'm interested in Photo Connect, but probably not as much if there aren't many photographers around the two parks.

Thanks!!

I bought the photo connect last year and was sadly disappointed with it.

The photo in front of Universal Globe was taken at a weird angle without 'Universal' in it, our magic photos didn't have any magic so we have several photos (we were there 3 days) of us pointing at nothing or holding nothing!

The main reason for buying it was because our then 4yr olds are superhero obsessed but apart from the Spider-Man shots (which are fantastic) the others were horrible - some out of focus, some off centre - it was a real shame.

I'm just pleased that I'm a photo addict so took several with my camera too!

Saying that, I'll probably still end up buying it on our upcoming trip !! :lmao:

At all the character meet and greets the cast member will take your picture for you. We got some great shots with Shaggy and Scooby, a minion and several other characters. At IOA a castmember took our pictue in front of the Weasley's car and another took ours in front of the Jurassic park T-Rex.

As far as the photo package - As we were out and about over 4 days we were only asked maybe twice to stop and pose for a photo. I never went to look at them so I can't say how they turned out. I know you get all your ride photos but I never buy those as I look downright scary in them!:lmao:

I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed in it! For us, it was one of the highlights of our trip!

Regarding the "magic" photos... You have to stop by the photo store at the front of either park and have them add the magic elements! They aren't automatically inserted.

We had literally hundreds of Photo Connect photos over our six days in the parks last time... and there were a few that were blurry or off-center, but the vast majority were wonderful, and it was always fun to stop by the photo shop and have them add borders and things!

Remember that ride photos are also included in the package!

Regarding the comparison to Disney, I have zero Disney experience, so I can't answer that. I don't know that I'd say there were LOTS of photographers roaming around, but we saw them from time to time - they are easily recognizable by their uniforms - and every single one that we asked was willing to follow us and work with us to take as many photos as we wanted! :thumbsup2

There are no where near as many photographers as in Disney but we still loved it. There is an app you can download on your phone and see your photos immediately. On many of the ride photos they will crop out the strangers if you ask also.

You are all so wonderful I just love the DIS boards. Thank you for the information above. I'm so excited to get there I almost can't wait for the next 6 days to pass.

Any employee at the parks will take pictures for you, as long as it doesn't interfere with a safety component of their job. Then again, for most people, that's just common sense. You wouldn't ask a lifeguard to take their eyes off a pool to take a picture for you, right? :)

Just make sure the camera is on and set up so all they have to do is point and shoot. And don't spend 10 minutes getting everyone posed.

Also, if there aren't any employees around, but you see another family taking pictures, offer to swap cameras and take pictures of each other.
