What has your experience been bringing/using stadium cushions and seats at Disney for parades/fireworks??

Does anyone know of any Disney themed ones? Pooh and princesses are the big hits at our house.

Thanks!

I see in your signature that you stayed at the Anaheim Hotel, could you tell me if you liked it I am planning on going to DL in April or July next year. Thanks.

Every fireworks show I've been to, there's really no place to sit and watch the show - everyone stands, at least in the areas I'm at.

A cushion would be nice for waiting on the curb for the parades to start, that's for sure!

I think the cushion idea is a good one, but most people don't want the hassle of carrying them around or stowing them, and the shows don't last that long(like a football game would):earsboy:

My 73 year old mother in law is going with us in Oct/Nov and she complained on the Dec 05 trip of her backside hurting, not enough padding. I don't have that problem. We were looking for inflatable cushion that would easily fit into the back pack.
Great thread!

This would be especially useful at Fantasmic! I haven't found anything yet, but have been looking for months.

I bring small inflatable cushions. I got them from pocketseat.com. Fits in your pocket when folded and quick to inflate. Sure helps the old tush when sitting on those hard seats.

Hmmm... I find pocketseat's pricing a bit deceptive. $0.01 each, and then shipping is $7 each. Sorry, but shipping is no where near $7 each, and shipping four of something does NOT cost four times as much as shipping one of something. If they want to charge $7 each, they should list it as $7 each.

This is a fun quote I heard long time ago and found it appropriate talking about cushions while parade watching.

Target has stadium cushions on sale at our store in Texas $6.00 each til Saturday. I thought it would be a great idea for parade watching.

we could take them back to our resort for the rest of the evening - but they are lightweight and don't think it will be a major deal carrying them around for the rest of the night. If so, we'll make a quick pit stop to the resort to drop them off ~

We stayed at the Anaheim Plaza last year. We will be staying again when we go the end of March next year. (BTW, if you take you trip in April, before 4/26 I think it is, adults pay kid's rates!) We really like the Anaheim Plaza. It's right on Harbor, directly across the street from DL. It is at a corner with a cross walk. What I really liked was crossing Harbor right there from the hotel and then walking along Disney's landscaped walkways instead of through the mobs of people in front of all the other hotels in that area. So, to me, location can't be beat. To be fair there are both plusses and minuses to this hotel. For us, the plusses far exceed the minuses, but they are there.
Plusses: nice large pool, clean, close, cheap (our March room we're getting for $72!), large rooms, sturdy construction so don't hear every little noise, kids (under 9) eat free in the dining room for breakfast and dinner for hotel guests, the rooms are really good sized, with walking room around the beds, mico and fridge in each room, large bathtubs, large countertop outside the bathroom with sink. Nice gift shop on site. Free parking. Beds were really confortable. They have a little bar on site.
Minuses: these are old buildings and they look like it. Two level, outside access, traditional keys vs. key cards. The food is only available at lunch and dinner, no room service, I don't think any take out. There's a breakfast buffet, but I'm not sure if they serve full service breakfast. I don't recall there being take out, either. There's a banquet room near the pool, and on weekend nights it's not unusual for there to be an event in one of them. That means two things, (1) increase in noise and non-hotel-guest traffic and (2) NO parking (don't leave the hotel parking lot if there is an event going on. You literally may not be able to find anyplace to park!) The arcade is a joke, they have like two or three games in it. The family suite, while the cheapest out there, is really a connecting room. Oh, and the staff, while friendly, wasn't the most competant. And, if you have an issue, good luck getting through to and getting a response from management. (Though, my issue wasn't with the place itself, mine was with a cancelled reservation that failed to get cancelled and my card was charged.)
Honestly, for us, staying at the Plaza enabled us to stay an extra day in the parks this next time. We looked at other places, but always had in our minds we'd probably end up back at the Plaza, there wasn't anything that I saw in them that would induce us to spend $30-100 more per night.

Our next visit is to DL. We're staying right across the street. So, we'd probably go get them close to when we want to use them. OR, bring them and put them in a locker. I'll have to check out Target. I need to run over there anyway. At DL, people get their places up to two hours ahead of time for the parades, for Fantasmic (not in a stadium there!) and for the fireworks. I thought bringing stadium seats and/or cushions would help us out, figuring, of course, that we'd be standing for the fireworks themselves.

I got them before they started that stupid 1 cent sale. At that time the price was $5 and shipping was cheaper according to the quanity.
