I know it's not the fort and is OT but we did a little trip to Universal this weekend. Instead of the fort we stayed at Turkey Lake near Universal. Got in on Saturday and set up and then went to the fort for some freeloading and watched Nat'l Treasure 2. I'm not sure if it was freeloading after I spent almost $100 bucks on dinner at Chef Mickeys and a couple tooty fruity drinks lol. We rode bikes around the loops and I would say each loop had about 5-6 sites empty which is odd for this time of year. The movie was great. A little close to Indiana Jones since we had just seen it Friday but I thought it was good. BTW there was very little room to move. I guess everybody else wanted to see it too.

Sunday we were at US at opening so we could make it to the new Simpsons ride. Did that 1st and made the loop around to MIB, Jaws,Disaster, and did the Mummy several times. I was picked for a small part in disaster. Look for me on the big screen lol. Mummy is a fave ride or mine and DD's so we did the single line 3 times and got put in the same vehicle twice.

Afterwards we went to the fort to see Monsters, Inc. Before the movie we rode bikes to WL for a bite at Roaring Forks. I was telling Annie about the pool hopping thread and she asked if she could jump in the pool lol. She didn't so all the people who think us fort fiends have cooties can calm down now. There's nothing like watching a movie at the fort. A friend just had a co. put one at our community pool last weekend for a movie night paid about $700 to have it set up and it was a dud compared to FW.

Today we showed up early at IOA. If we arrive that early I try and do something that later in the day will be impossible to wait on. We did Spiderman back to back. There was nobody in line. Afterwards we went to Jurassic Park and did the flying birds and the water rde. Forgot the names already lol. Then we went to Dueling Dragons and did that twice. FINALLY!!! after many trips Anniston decided today was the day to do the Hulk. Had to wait a little but it was worth seeing her on it. She wanted to do it again but the line was too long. By 12:30 we had done all we wanted and eaten lunch so we headed back and packed up to head home. I'm not sure if it's the economy or just a couple slow days or Universal not having 20 resorts with guests chomping to get in but it seemed really slow in the morning and finally picked up some around noon. Not like I've seen before though. I'm not complaining though. It was nice not being boxed in all day.

I'll post a pic tomorrow of this homemade Tab that was next to us at Turkey Lake. It's like a mini me of CLKelly's Tab. I thought it was a little storage trailer until i got closer. I mean I've seen coffins bigger than this thing. Hey, why waste space huh? All it needed was an a/c.

Glad to see you had a good time. It is always nice to get away for the weekend. Can't wait for the pics.

Sounds like you had a good time. We went camping at the beach over the weekend. When are you coming to buy my SW LOL... I need the money for diesel to get to the Fort :furious:  :( :faint:

How was Turkey Creek campground? I know it's probably nothing like FtW, but overall, how was it?

This stinking economy, and especially the price of gas, is going to hit all the theme parks, I'm afraid. People have to watch their $$ just to pay for things like...gas, food, utilities, and there isn't much left over for "trivial" things like US/IOA or WDW. Something's gotta give, and soon!!

The simpsons ride was very similar to Back to the Future. They just put new paint and covers on the Deloreans. Just has a new theme. Cool though.

Turkey Lake is really nice. Even though it's not the fort I really enjoy staying there. It only has about 40 sites and they're covered by nice oaks. For $15 a night you can't complain.

Sounds like a fun trip. We've only been to Universal once but I remember riding a log water ride that was a lot of fun. Mummy is my DD9's favorite too.

There is just something so inherently wrong with this that I am just stunned I tell you, just stunned. And YES, you are a free loader. Eating at Chef Mickey's entitles you to absolutely nothing except the food at Chef Mickey's. Who do you thing you are? A WILDERNESS LODGER? What makes you think you can stay at another campground and then visit the FORT? Were you campground hopping? Didn't you sign something at the other campground stating you would NOT campground hop? I think you did but you went ahead and did it anyway. I pay way too much money for my campsite at the Fort to have people from other low life campgrounds campground hopping. It just gets my blood boiling. It makes me wanna puke! Well, it ain't gonna happen again if I have my way. You and your kind disgust me and should never be allowed to leave your homes. That is if you even own homes. STAY AWAY from my Campground!!!:rolleyes1

Sounds like a fun weekend!! We go to Universal/IOA every couple of years. We make a point to go on a weekday and both parks are usually DEAD. I've ridden everything I wanted to in both parks in one day and had plenty of time to wander around just for pictures.

I'd LOVE to see a picture of the teardrop!! Those things are small aren't they!!!

That whole "campground hopping" thing is worse than those lowlifes that dont give their seats to bluehairs on the boat. :stir:

I can't believe you campground hopped. What a disgrace. And then to not give your seat to bluehaired Mrs. Gus is a bigger shame.....You probably took up two seats at the movie, and left your marshmallow wrappers on the ground, thinking, hey, I'm not saying at the Fort, why should I clean up. Then you drove away, in your diesel carbon footprint increasing machine.

OK boys, I like it better when we team up on Scott. ::yes::

Thanks, BigdaddyRog, see what you started!:headache:

Scott doesn't campground hop, nor push old blue haired ladies off the seats of their ECV's either.

Wow, seriously $15?? It's not the Fort, but that sounds like a good way to get more use out of our ap's....:confused3

(Donnie, like my dad use to say....if they didn't tease you, that'd mean they didn't like you) double negative, i know...

Like I always say, hate the game not the player. They're just jealous I was there and they weren't. By the way, it was FABULOUS not paying the high rate for the fort lol and using their ammenities. Did I mention we swam both days at the Meadows pool too. How's that?????

I sure hope you brought your refillable mugs.
