I am thinking of doing the Sapphire beach excursion that Disney offers with my 2 girls (6 and 8). They both love the water, what can anyone tell me about it, was it worth it, do you actually stay at the resort, or just on the beach, how was the lunch? How long does it take to get there?
Do they have a water trampoline type of thing, my oldest really want to do that since she saw it on the disney video.
Thanks for the help......
It is freezing cold up here, and dreaming about the cruise helps me keep warm :Pinkbounc

We went to Sapphire Beach 2 years ago and thought it was nice....we went and rented jet skis which were a blast. The lunch was horrible...i just ate the chips and cookies as sandwiches ans such were left out in the sun without anything to keep them cold. You are at the resort...it was nice. Watch out for the giant lizards wandering around!!!

Sorry i did not finish...you are actually at the beach portion of the resort. It was about a half hour ride (which was an experience in itself...my husband called it Disneys Caribbean Cabride...a new Disney attraction!!) thru the island. When we went there was not a water trampoline. Probably would not go back.

We did the Sapphire Beach excursion through Disney this past August. The beach was beautiful. People from New Jersey thought that the beach was too rocky. IMHO it was not nearly as rocky as beaches in New England. There were some large rocks where the water ended. We did alot of swimming and snorkleing. Great fish not very far from the beach. I agree with Jillie about the lunch. NOT VERY GOOD. It was ham and cheese or Turkey and cheese, with chips and a cookie. There was a shop to buy souveniers and a shop to rent water stuff- snorkles, etc.
dds 6 and 9 had a good time.

SUGGESTION:

Do Sapphire Beach on your own! You can catch a cab for I think $3/person from the ship and they will take you directly to it! Save the money! Plus, you can stay as little or as long as you want!

We did Magens Bay on our own and it was very convenient and loved it!

Some of the excursions are good, some aren't. Try it on your own, I promise, you won't be disappointed.

I agree with Gina. Do it on your own. The cab driver we had gave us a great narrated tour on the way to the beach. The beach itself was great for snorkeling. It is not difficult to catch a cab back to the ship either. they are all over the island.

THanks for all of the feeback, it is exactly what I needed.
The reason that I was looking for a Disney excursion is that my husband is going Diving that day, and I did not want to have to "think" I just wanted someone to take care of everything for me.........

I will say, I didn't think much at all on St Thomas! I am not familiar with the diving thing but I am sure they would love to help you out. Hope you have fun!

We also caught a cab to sapphire beach. Not only did he return to pick us up, but he gave us a small tour of the island. It was beautiful. We were, however, unable to get a lounge chair on the beach but we were fine with a beach blanket. Our kids had a wonderful time in the sand. We saved a significant amount of money by doing it on our own.:cool2:
