St Pete's Sandpiper Resort? Renovating?

Has anyone seen what they are working on? Will the noise be distracting to us if we are sitting on the beach? What are the restaurants like? What floors have the renovated already? Stayed and loved at the Island Grand but way too expensive this trip. Thanks

We just got back from Spring Break at the Island Grand and had friends that were at the Sandpiper. Not sure which rooms have been completed, they had a new one (ground floor, to the left of the entrance if you are looking at main front doors from the street). I seriously doubt that the noise would be bothersome if you are at the beach - there is a lot between the sand and the rooms. We had appetizers from the little restaurant poolside -the grub was good, not too expensive. Check into a "Returning Guest 20% off discount card" for food and drinks. It came in VERY handy for us!

Hi,

We've been going to St. Pete's for years and have tried various locations. The last few years we have stayed off the beach at an Isla del Sol condominium complex called Bahai Vista. We get a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom for $730.00 a week. It is about 5 minutes drive to the Beach. There is a little beach in front of the complex on the coastal waterway, and the kids do dig in the sand, but I wouldn't swim here.

Several years ago we stayed at the Gulf Gate on the beach and my parents and sister are going at the end of April. You can get one and two bedroom condos, but I'm not sure of the price. These condos weren't as nice as at Bahia Vista, but they were adequate and are on the beach.

We are going to Orlando May 7th and spending all our time there, which is a first. We thought the kids would have more to do. I will miss St. Petes.
