So, for everyone who's now home for St. Patrick's Day, are you making anything special tomorrow? Green foods? Fun things to do with the kids? Let's share!

We are staying home for sure. I was thinking of making my own version of shamrock shakes for the kids - vanilla ice cream, milk, mint extract, green food coloring.

Only thing I do different is I don't add the chopped pistachios and instead I put white chocolate chips.

When DS was little, we did Lucky Charms sundaes for St. Patrick's Day breakfast - just cereal over ice cream instead of in milk. But I think I'm going to go big and attempt green pancakes tomorrow.

Oh and for dinner for us I have some kind of Irish ale sausages I picked up so tomorrow I'll make bangers and mash... Colcannon would be slightly more appropriate but I don't have ingredients for that.

I plan on putting my big ole corned beef in the crock pot in the morning. I will fondly remember the times when I used to go downtown Chicago and see the "green" river and watch the St Patrick's parade. That was soooooo long ago (in the mid 70s) but I enjoy the memories anyway. The Virus cant take that away from me.

We'll be drinking Guinness and Murphy's at home (no kids in this house!) Despite my mom being born in Ireland, I have never liked corned beef. Growing up with potaotes every night for dinner, we don't have them much these days.

Parade canceled so this year... quiet day at home and no Irish food here, didn’t prepare for that. My once a year corn beef n cabbage will have to wait.

Shamrock Hunt

All you have to do is put a Shamrock in your window on March 17th.

That’s it! Color it, paint it, cut it out, print it from the printer, whatever.
Then we can get outside, walk around and see how many Shamrocks we can find! It would be awesome to post pictures of your finds back here.
It’s easy. No human contact. Get fresh air. Don’t buy toilet paper. Just put a shamrock in your window.

Our kids love all the holidays, and this would be a fun way to make this holiday special too!
