When the Magic is in St. Maartin, do we stay on ship time, or have to change our watches?

Also is ship time, EST?

I am trying to arrange to meet some friends who will be in St. Maartin, on another ship.

thanks,
sue

Yes, we just got off the eastern Magic and you turn your clocks forward before going to bed Sunday and then you turn them back before going to bed on Thursday. It is a bummer turning them ahead but you get the advantage when you turn them back!!! It allows you one extra hour of sleep before getting off the ship at Castaway Cay. When you board the ship, you are on EST.

Thanks for the information.

At least, if we have to turn our clock back, it is while we are at sea. Much better then if it was just before a day in port. I also like the extra hour just before Castaway Cay, we will get to go home more rested.

St Maarten and St Thomas are both in the Atlantic Time Zone, which is one hour ahead of the Eastern Time Zone (Florida). However, STM and STT do not observe Daylight Savings Time, so when the U.S. is observing DST (first Sunday of April to the last Sunday of October), there is no net time change.

Yes, the ship's time changes to whatever the local time is at the next port.

Thanks, each cruise line is different, which makes it kinda confusing.
