Hi...just looking for some advice. We are going to hit up St. Louis area and Six Flags...where should I look for a hotel? We will need a suite type place that can sleep 6 to a room and preferably somewhere with breakfast included. Thinking about maybe going to see the Arch as well. Any tips, tricks or advice for me? Anything special I should know about Six Flags or the area in general?

thanks!!

I would look into going to the City Museum with the kids over the Arch. You can walk down to the park where the arch is, see it, take some photos, then head over to the City Museum. Your kids will LOVE it.

Do you want to be right in Downtown St. Louis for the hotel?

I second the City Museum, it is awesome! Just a note, I never carry a purse in these places. Had all my "stuff" fall out of my back pocket going thru the front outdoor climbing tubes. Did manage to get it all, but they say it happens all the time!

As for where to stay...how many nights are you there and what else do you plan to do. We stayed at the KOA near Six Flags and it took us about 35 minutes to get to City Museum from there.

Ther are many things to do in The STL - we have one of the best Zoos in the country and it is free admission (I think it is $8 to park in one of the lots but there is also free street parking, and you can get passes to do the train, childrens zoo, seal lion show, stingray feeding..) If you do go to the arch, buy your tickets online ahead of time and print them - there is usually a LONG line to go up to the top once you get into the arch, having your tickets already you get to bypass most of the line, (a park ranger inside can help you) --- There is also Grants Farm, The Botanical Gardens, The Science Center/ Planetarium and The Magic House. Lodging really depends on where you wnt to be 6 Flags is about 25 - 30 min outside if downtown in Eureka - the zoo, city museum, arch, are downtown (well the zoo and science center are in in forest Park).

Thanks everyone. I think we want to be staying closer to Six Flags because we won't have enough time to really do mroe than that and maybe one other thing like the museum or Arch. We will only be there two nights...

what can I expect from Six Flags?? I have been to Worlds of Fun, is it like that or how does it compare? Do you enjoy it even though you have been to Disney World??

thanks...

There is a holiday inn right across the street from Six Flags. It has a shuttle bus to the park.
