Wow everybody, I just went through one of the worst things in my life. I suppose everybody knows about what is going on in the St. Louis area, and it was awful. There are trees down everywhere. I live in Granite City, IL, and the park is full of fallen trees. Limbs were down everywhere, buildings were damaged, etc... My power went out for 31 hours, this was during the hottest day of the year, over 100. It came back at 2 am so we got the AC going. Then the second storm came and knocked the power out again for 10.5 hours. Everything is good now where I live, but most of the city is still out. We are under a boil order still though, oh well. I hope everyone that went through this is keeping their spirits up.

Hey there  .. we were melting over here in OFallon. We are fortunate not to have power out for too long. Dang it was a long, hot 7 hours.... DH's grandmother-95 is in East St Louis.. STILL NO POWER... she will NOT leave her house. :confused3 . we are taking turns staying with her...

We were about a mile from home today when the tornado sirens went off... could not see a dang thing... took forever to get home, car stalled in flooded street too.... bummer.. but all is ok.. just lost some fencing and a tree snapped off at the base.

I stick to my vote.. I'll take earthquakes over tornadoes anyday....

Hope all the folks in SW ILL/MO are AOK!

Hi DizParks,
I'm here too. I am one of the lucky ones who still has power but it is literally block by block. I cannot believe how widespread this is. Much of my family is in North County and they are still out of power. I know there is no hotel room to be found--completely booked. I am in South City and it is creepy driving down the street when everything is pitch black. I know several people who have 8-10 others staying with them who are without power. Good luck to you and keep us posted of how you are doing. :grouphug:

I'm doing fine now, I cleaned up all the huge tree branches from my back and front yard. I can't believe what this city looks like, it's so weird. Trees just snapped like they were toothpicks, and the same thing goes with these concrete light poles. Hopefully everyone will get their power back up before it starts to heat up again Monday.
