I would like to do an excursion to St John, would it be better to do it on our own or book through DCL? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks,

Lisa

Do it one your own, we caught the Red Hook Ferry and enjoyed are day at Trunk Bay, saw the tours getting hearded around, comming and going and not spending the time that we were able to on a wonderful beach. I dont think it cost us more that $50 with Ferry cab etc with 3 of us.

Hey, Lisa...I really want to see St. John also. I'm thinking of doing the DCL St. John Trunk Bay Beach and Snorkel excursion and then hitting Coral World afterwards. The boys really want to see Coral World. I figured it's just less hassle to do it through DCL, plus I know they'll have us back to the ship by 1:00ish so we can then have some lunch and then grab a cab to Coral World.

I just can't decide!! I know Coral World and Coki Beach will be nice, but I'd hate to pass up the chance at seeing St. John. I will probably book it and then decide definitely before we leave.

I would do it on your own. We took a taxi to the ferry and the taxi driver ( Hermania)called ahead and we had someone waiting for us in St. John (Puff Daddy) and drove us to Trunk Bay (beautiful)then he came back to get us at a agreed upon time and then Hermania meet us back in St. Thomas. the price was probabably comparable to DCL but we had all day and they only had 1 1/2 hours.

Denise we also had Puff Daddy for our July 01 cruise. We did the St. John's beach on our own. After reading all the tips on this board, we went for it. Everything went like clockwork. We definitely had more time than DCL.

2 years ago we did the champagne catamaran and had a blast...it sprinkled on our trip and i would still do it again..great entertainment..the crew was so nice and the lunch was great
