I wanted to post this on the DIS because I think it is a good cause!

This Saturday my friend Shelby and I will be losing our hair in order to raise money to fight childhood cancer. Every year around the country St. Baldrick's events take place where people shave their hair to raise money to help find a cure for childhood cancers.

I've attended the event the past few years in support of my friend who lost her daughter to cancer, but this year we decided to join in the fun and lose some hair!

I'd really appreciate any support anyone can give. The event information can be found here:

And here is a link to our team page:

Thanks for any support you can offer!

I did this a couple of years ago. It is great! I can post pics if you want (don't want to take away from your thread).

One issue I ran into was my job did not approve of women having bald heads. The American Cancer Society has a catalogue called TLC and you can get scarves from them to wear. People could still tell I was bald, but it made my job happy (and kept my head from being sunburned!) If you need some, let me know and I might be able to send you one or two of my old ones.

ETA: IF you have long hair, put it in a ponytail and you can donate it to Locks of Love. Kill two birds with one stone! That's what we did at our event.
