St Augustine

Has anyone visited St Augustine on the NE coast? We are planning to drive over there for a day on our next trip. It looks interesting but it's always good to hear from those who have actually been.

I've been there several times and really enjoy it. I think it's better to spend as night but it can be done in a day. If you're spending the night, there are lots of small boutique hotels. The Casa Monica is the big hotel and it's dynamite.

We drove upto Savannah and Tybee Island last weekend, past St Augustine, really easy drive up there. We did right upto Georgia in the day set off at 6:20am got back 2:30am no problem, a little tiring so St Aug should be a doddle.

Will be a good day trip. We visited a few years ago for a long weekend. It's a lovely little town.

We did the hop-on hop-off train that stopped at the college and the winery etc.

Yeah I knew it would be an easy drive. We did a bit of a driving tour this year and found it really good and easy. Looks like it's a definite on the itinerary for next summer then.

Casa Monica looks amazing! What a lovely hotel, I had a look on its website.
