St Augustine need a hotel

I'm looking to spend about 2 nights in St Augustine. My oldest son and I want to do some ghost tours and be in the heart of everything. We don't plan on going to the beach. Can anyone suggest hotels and things to do.

There is a website called OldCity.com. It features information on lodging, attractions, and tours. The old jail is not to be missed. A Bed and Breakfast would be a good choice as many are haunted. Be sure to check out the Fort and the old military hospital for haunted sites. There are both haunted walking tours and trolley tours. (Ghost Train). There is also Potter's Wax Museum and Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum. The Lighthouse is cool too. I enjoy the Lightner Museum as well. Harry's restaurant has a supposed haunted ladies room upstairs. They have great food, too. I love going down there and spending a day or evening. If you don't want a B & B, there is a Hilton right on the water too.

Try a bed and breakfast ..some are in the heart of town and it really gives you the feel of Old Town...also very economical I found

For anyone interested, I found nigttime tours of the St Augustine lighthouse, which is supposed to be haunted. It's called the dark of the moon tour. It sounds creepy.The site is http://www.staugustinelighthouse.com/events/details.php?eid=361

Just found this and if you hadn't gone yet try the Marion Motor Lodge which is walking distance to town. Bayfront motel which takes AAA if you have that and is right next to the Marion with a view of the old bridge and across the street from the bay.

The Casa Monica downtown is a fantastic hotel. Located right on Cordova St., the location can hardly be beat. It will run more than the bed and breakfasts costs wise, but if you are looking for a nice hotel atmosphere this is the place for it. Granted, I may be biased because the owner's hotel in Orlando used to cut my paycheck

Absolute first two choices would be Casa Monica or the Hilton (which is only a few years old). Both in the heart of historic district. Enjoy, it's a great town !
