After hearing good reviews here, I went to their web site and sent for some travel info..

It arrived today and all I can say is, "WOW!!!!!!!!" There's SO much to do and see! I just love it.. Now all I have to do is decide if I want to spend 3 days or so touring that area on my way down to Florida - or go get my sister in Lady Lake first and take her along.. I know she would LOVE it - would just have to see if someone can babysit her ferrets..

Thanks so much for pointing out this area to me! :flower:

It is a wonderful place to visit!

DH and I were there a couple of years ago on a business trip. We toured the forts, went to the lighthouse. I did the city tour while he was in a conference.

I even drank from the Fountain of Youth - alas, it didn't work! :rotfl2:

I regret that we didn't visit the Gator Farm, though. :guilty:

My DH boss has a house there on the water that he lets us use. St.Augustine is so beautiful, we love it and pray that the boss doesn't sell the house!!!

Would I be allowed to fill a gallon jug? :rotfl: :rotfl:

the Gator Farm is a "must" for me.. Everyone keeps saying there's gators in Florida, but two trips in one year and I still haven't seen hide nor hair of one.. ;)

The gator farm is a great place to visit. Be sure to be there at feeding time and watch the show.

My youngest brother goes to Flager Univeristy down in St. Augustine. We have visited a few times, and just love it down there! He is graduating this year, and my entire family is going down in April for the graduation. We are staying at the World Golf Village - which we have heard is really nice. I can't wait! :flower:

I think you will really enjoy St. Augustine C.Ann. DH and I visited on a trip to Fla a few yrs ago and we fell in love with this beautiful old town. We took an interesting train tour that included all the historical sites. Later we shopped in the old town where all the little streets are like a huge maze among many shops. Lots of friendly people down south and we for sure had a ton of fun and hope to go back again some day. :goodvibes

C, Ann, will you still be in FL this weekend? Wilma is heading toward us, just be alert and stay safe. They are projecting it to hit somewhere on the west coast this weekend...of course then it will move across the peninsula, so everyone needs to prepare. Just keep an eye on it! But don't let it ruin your fun!

ETA, I just realized you're not in FL now, nevermind!

Try the A1A Alehouse for good food and sit outside for a view of the bridge! (although the lions are being rehabbed right now). Harry's is also nice to sit in the courtyard and have a cocktail! I plan on spending my upcoming anniversary at one of the many B&B's there! Just think, its the oldest city in the U.S. Hope you enjoy! :sunny:
